A solid console, with enjoyable games, it just wasn't enough to beat the Sony Playstation, but it was enough to keep Nintendo in the console business, which is more than can be said about the Sega Dreamcast. This actually had a great library of games, with sharp looking polygonal 3d graphics that were a bit superior to the PS1 graphics, but the PS2 came out not long after this and really trounced the N64 across the board. Still a great console for the time it came out, with an enjoyable library of games. Nintendo just made a few missteps with the timing on this one.
