One of the best Ultrabooks out there

84

With the ATIV Book 9 Plus, Samsung can still lay claim to one of the best Ultrabooks on the market. As ever, it offers an attractive design and fast performance, but battery life is improved, and the 3,200 x 1,800 display is best in class.

So, while there are some other excellent, similarly priced options out there, the ATIV Book 9 Plus is a fantastic option in its own right.

If you’re just looking for an all-around excellently made Windows touch ultrabook and don’t mind that it's on the expensive side (and doesn’t convert to a tablet), the improved Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus is worth the investment.

Is that Plus really worth the extra coin? It may not be one louder, but it’s one more of something.

It may not come cheap, but the Samsung Ativ 9 Plus looks and feels its money. It’s a great looking laptop of near-flawless build quality and a brilliant screen...Ultrabooks don’t get much better than this.

If you absolutely must have that stunning display, then we would wholeheartedly recommend the Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus. It's built to be future-proof, and you won't be disappointed with any aspect of its performance. Its price is the only area you'll need to convince yourself on.

The Samsung Ativ Book 9 Plus is a great ultrabook with an excellent design, lots of processing power and top-notch sound quality (for an ultrabook). But with screen contrast this low (330:1), we just can't give it five stars.

A great laptop doesn’t need to become a tablet, or detach, or spin and swivel. It needs to have a great trackpad, a great keyboard, a great screen, great performance, and great battery life. The Ativ Book 9 Plus checks virtually every box ... as long as battery life isn't at the top of your wish...

Samsung is promising 12 hours of usage -- and that's despite the Plus model arriving with an eye-watering 13.3-inch, 3,200 x 1,800 qHD+ display. In addition, there's up to 256GB SSD storage and 8GB of RAM, two USB 3.0 ports and mini-VGA and micro-HDMI sockets.

The Ativ Book 9 Plus keeps the same sleek, attractive design as its predecessor but mixes in a glaringly high-resolution, touch-enabled display. It's almost certainly going to be a pricey piece of gear, but it could be worthwhile for media types for whom resolution is paramount.

Design-wise, the device looks very similar [to a MacBook Air] with a thin aluminium uni-body. It's a 13.3in laptop measuring in at 13.6mm and 1.39kg. Like the Ativ Q, that touchscreen has a QHD+ resolution of 3200x1800 meaning a high pixel density of 275ppi.

the best way to describe this machine is as the Windows/Samsung version of a Macbook air with a Retina display. It has 2 USB3 ports one on each side, 128 SSD, 4GB of RAM, touchscreen and a backlit keyboard. This is a solidly built compact and powerful machine with an amazing display. The...
