The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 has a sharp display, stunning good looks and great performance. However, its poor battery life and high price tag diminish its appeal.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 makes a good case for spending more to get more. Its top-of-the-line specs and zippy performance come in a package that will appease the aesthetically inclined and the business professional alike.

Plastic construction notwithstanding, Samsung largely succeeds in producing a premium Android tablet, but I'm not sure I can justify that price gulf.

The more compact form factor coupled with a lower price and better performance gets the trifecta to win out over the Pro 10.1. There are areas where the 10.1 clearly wins out (color quality and battery life, specifically), but is it worth $100 more to get those, along with a bulkier, heavier device?

We wish Samsung had thrown in a stylus for this Android-powered tablet, however, and the battery life is disappointingly short compared to the competition. But if you want better multitasking than the iPad mini in a slim and light design, the Tab Pro 8.4 is a worthy investment.

It is well built, slim and light, offering all-day battery life, great internal hardware and some useful software tweaks ... Overall the Samsung Galaxy TabPro 8.4 is a great Android tablet, fusing power and performance in a package that's impressive, if not quite as premium a build as we'd like.

Sure, it's expensive, but until its impressive user experience is matched by a cheaper slate we can't really call it overpriced. It's a gadget to be looking up to and a companion, whose presence will be enjoyed by everyone.

Priced at $399, you are definitely paying for a premium tablet, but it does live up to its price tag. The Samsung Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 provides all of the power the PRO name suggests, while keeping it all in a manageable size.

With a starting price of $400 (in the US), the Samsung Galaxy Tab PRO 8.4 is among the most expensive tablets of this caliber. It costs as much as a 2-gen iPad mini and $100 more than an LG G Pad 8.3, for that matter. But is this rather steep price tag justified? You betcha!

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is a high-quality Android tablet with good specs for the price. However, a series of issues with performance and the otherwise-impressive screen mean it has strong competition from cheaper Android rivals and the similarly-priced iPad mini with Retina Display.

In all, the Galaxy TabPRO 8.4 is an impressive little tablet. The power and beautiful display it packs into such a compact package are praiseworthy, even if we would prefer to see Samsung up its game in terms of materials used or the cohesiveness of the software.

The 8-inch Tab Pro is vertically oriented, which makes sense -- it felt more comfortable holding it that way. This smaller screen, with the same resolution as the others, meant it was pin sharp and helped make it our early favorite of the trio.

It is the closest we've come from Samsung and Android to being a laptop replacement without some sort of hybrid arrangement. Business users wanting to ditch Windows altogether may now have a viable alternative and that will certainly be appealing to many...

I just bought this today at my local Best Buy, and I haven't put it through it's paces yet. My previous tablet was an iPad mini. I wanted a mini iPad long before Apple ever made one. When it finally came out, it was slow and had an underwhelming screen. Despite this, it was still a fantastic...
