The PS3 has grown into a capable system that does almost everything the Xbox 360 can do, and many things even better. As a home theater box it's impeccable, and it's getting better with every update. As a gaming machine the lineup of exclusives is impressive, and more are on the way. quote

Overall, I am impressed with the system's potential. The graphics power is there and once developers have had the time to tap into it, things should change a bit. In fact, I think we'll see great things from the second generation of games from the PS3.

The high-end Sony PlayStation 3's larger hard drive and ability to play PS2 games makes it a worthwhile alternative to the cheaper model. If backward compatibility is your top priority, this hard-to-find model may be worth the search.

It may cost more, but as a high-definition gaming system and a high-quality Blu-ray player, the PlayStation 3 slays the competition.

The PS3 looks like an expensive box at first, but seems less so when you compare its cost to the cost of a stand-alone Blu-ray player, a high-end PC graphics card, the Xbox 360 with its HD-DVD add-on, or even a Media Center PC.

A very impressive machine, if only the games and the movie selection were at the same level as the console this would be a no brainer. Hopefully for UK readers, by the time the console launches here both issues will be resolved.

First of all, the Playstation is a fantastic game system, with a great library of games, of which my favorites are first party exclusives such as Uncharted, Eden & Flower. But it is also a very capable Blu-ray player, with deep, rich multimedia capabilities. Despite being a gamer, my system...

With its strong media capabilities and robust game library, the PlayStation 3 has quickly climbed on my list of "great purchases" and is, as of now, my favorite gaming console on the market. Hardware-wise, the machine has proved over the past two years to be a very reliable piece of...

I'd really like to truly love the PS3. I really would. But in typical Sony style, the system has been hampered by the system's firmware. With each release, it gets better and better, but it still does not support NetFlix streaming. It still does not support the number of video...

The PS3 is a great gaming console, with specs that have only now started to be fully tapped. On top of the multiplatform games and the amazing exclusives (go get Killzone 2 now!), there are very good downloadable games, some very different to what you may be used to see (Flower, Noby Noby Boy...

I received my first PS3 as a birthday present nearly 3 years ago. Because of the library of PS2 games I have it needed to be the compatible player. I truly have never looked back. While I have only a 50" Toshiba DLP 720p rear projection TV I have calibrated it to proper spec so the picture...

Okay, first off: the game library. I've never understood people who moan about there being no games on the PS3 worth playing. Outside of multiplatform stuff, there's still the many in-house studio productions and I've only run across one or two that has disappointed. I look at the...

Sony's Playstation 3 has many great features, but the one main one that stands out is the fact that it is equipped with the best Blu-Ray player that money can buy. The reason it is the best, is because Blu-Ray technology will continue to progress as time goes by. And the PS3 has the ability...

I got my PS3 in early 2007 and it was such a pleasure. Even though I bought it for my personal use, when I walked down the street of Prague with PS3 - Czech guys and even tourists were looking at my PS3 and were whispering about it. That's my first Experience to have this great machine. (I...
