Can an imported Playstation Vita be localized for the US PSN store?
details
I'm going to Hong Kong in about a week and I'm thinking of getting a wifi PlayStation Vita there since it'll be released there before it comes out here in the US in Febuary. I'm concerned that if I buy the PSV there, I'll be stuck using the Asian PSN store and that I won't be able to use it with the US PSN store.

Does anyone know if I can change the settings for it to be localized for the US?

I am thinking of buying it from Amazon Japan since it will be released tomorrow there, so what will be the advantages and disadvantages of doing that? I really can't wait until it is released in US or UK?

Would you buy a PS Vita phone?
details

Sony has to go this direction. It's really the only opportunity for them in the smartphone business. Apple knows iPhone's competition is heating up with Windows and Android, but could Sony do real damage with this beastly phone?
I think they can, but the biggest downfall is the same as the Android phones with 4+inch screens: battery life. I could see the PS Vita handling calls and mobile gaming and being very... Read more →

Sony Tablet S vs PS Vita vs iPad 3
details
As much as I would love to have a tablet, I think they are overpriced. I don't know much about the Kindle Fire, but it doesn't really seem to spark my interest, even at the price point. I am much more interested in the Sony tablet and the iPad 3, but curious if the PS Vita is actually the better play because of its raw power. I don't want the iPad 2 because Apple will simply release another one in March/April next year, not reduce the price on the current model more than $100 and the next... Read more →

How many will wait to buy Vita 2/Vita 2000/Vita XL/Vita Slim?
details
Sony and Apple are as notorious for great looking, well functioning, top of the line devices as they are for making vast improvements on those devices in the 2nd and 3rd iterations. Back in college, my roommate bought a PSP-1000 for $275, only to sell it a year later for something like $200. Obviously he loved being an early adopter, but ultimately had to sell the device because the novelty wore off and he eventually the iPod Touch caught his eye. I bought a PSP-3000 about a 1.5 years ago and... Read more →

If you've had the first PSP, how likely is it that you are going to purchase the Vita?
details
Personally, I'm a bit apprehensive about purchasing the Vita and this is based on my experience with the first PSP. I remember the day I bought the PSP (March 24, 2005). I couldn't wait to get out of school (10th grade) to go pick up my preorder at Gamestop. It was the first video game device that I saved my hard earned $249.99 plus tax to purchase along with a few other games. All was great at first, but then it would be weeks before a game worth noticing would come out. Those weeks then turned... Read more →

Will potentially poor battery life in the PlayStation Vita change your mind?
details
Sony's latest portable console, the PlayStation Vita, is due out in the near future. Various discussions are starting to pop up regarding the admittedly poor battery life of the device -- anywhere from 3 to 5 hours per charge.

Is this something that is a deal killer for you? Or can you still justify the purchase?

Why did everyone give Sony so much crap about using the UMD?
details
Nintendo have their own proprietary (the cartridge) but no one ever seemed to cared, but when Sony announced the PSP and that they're going to use the UMD as the format for their games and videos everyone I know criticized Sony. So why did everyone hate on the UMD while people cared little for the cartridge that Nintendo used for the Game Boy and Nintendo DS line. Also, don't forget that Nintendo did create videos for Game Boy Advance stored in cartridges. Remember all those Nickelodeon videos...

Memory Card Slot on the Vita
details
I've read dozens of posts on the new Vita, even Sony's page, but I can't find anything that tells me "what kind of memory slot" this thing will have. I was considering picking up a memory stick for my current PSP to load a few extra downloaded games on, but don't want to buy something I can't put in the next version. Anyone have any idea on this one?

It's looking like Nintendo and Sony are going to stick to their respective strategies with their previous generations of portable gaming devices, one being…
details
an alternative (simple?) gaming experience and the other bringing the console gaming experience in a powerful portable device. Before the DS and PSP were released, I thought that the PSP would definitely be the winner because it was so much more powerful, but I was obviously way off. I'm guessing the majority of people wanted a device/game designed for gaming on the go and not having what is essentially a portable PS2. Personally, I think I would take the Sony NGP purely due to the spec... Read more →
