The Joystiq staff tried to package and send out boxes love to everyone on the internet, but shipping costs were crazy, so we helped prepare this Humble Weekly Bundle instead! The Humble Weekly Bundle Joystiq edition includes Beat Hazard Ultra (plus DLC), Intake, Dungeon of Elements and The Dream Machine chapters 1 - 4, all for whatever price you care to pay. For $6 or more, add on Slender: The Arrival and Primal Carnage. Pay at least $15 and also get Costume Quest 2. Joystiq's Humble Weekly Bundle supports The AbleGamers Foundation, an organization that advocates on the behalf of the disability community to make games more accessible for players of all types. We spoke with AbleGamers COO Steve Spohn this year about the climate facing players with disabilities. "When we are denied something, the walls come down around us and we're locked, trapped," Spohn said. "When you break that barrier the walls come down again, and you feel like you can rejoin the world. What we do is for the people. That's what this is about. Giving people a sense of control over their own lives." Check out the Humble Weekly Bundle Joystiq edition right here, or use the sweet widget below.

Beat Hazard Ultra, Cold Beam Games' arcade-style twin stick shooter, has grossed over $2.2 million since it first launched on Steam in June 2011. Steve Hunt, the lone developer of the game, also noted in a recent blog post that the game's 3,000 percent profit came from over 700,000 copies being sold across seven platforms. Hunt said that overall development costs were "in the region of $70,000." Of Beat Hazard Ultra's seven platforms, it just recently launched on Xbox Live's Indie Games channel. Xbox 360 users can see what the fuss is about for 400 MSP ($5).

Humble Android Bundle 5 brings a bunch of games to your PC, Mac and Android devices, all for the low, low price of "whatever you want." Included at that base price is Beat Hazard Ultra, Dynamite Jack, Solar 2, NightSky HD, and the soundtracks for all of those games, except for Dynamite Jack, who is too cool for that nonsense.Pay more than the average (which still hovers around the price of "low, low") and get Super Hexagon and Dungeon Defenders, plus all of the Dungeon Defenders DLC and the soundtracks for both games. Pay $1 or more and all games come with Steam keys in addition to the direct downloads. As always, payment to the Humble Bundle can be divided among the developers, the Humble team and charities Child's Play and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. Be on the lookout for the addition of more games to this Android bundle, because that's how the Humbles roll.

Beat Hazard Ultra, the procedurally generated twin-stick shooter by 1-man indie powerhouse Cold Beam Games, is now available as a Universal App for iOS devices. As with the PSN, XBLA and Steam versions, Beat Hazard Ultra uses music stored on your device to generate its levels. The game can also use streaming radio apps as its musical muse, a feature which is unique to this version.Beat Hazard Ultra supports Game Center leader boards and achievements, although the PSN version's online multiplayer fails to make the jump to iOS. Between Survival, Boss Rush and Chill Out modes, though, it certainly sounds like you'll get your dollar's worth out of the title, which happens to be the app's limited introductory price.%Gallery-147120%

  • Beat Hazard Ultra coming to PSN in September

Joystiq Indie Pitch game and current Steam/XBLA release Beat Hazard will appear in an upgraded form on PSN this September, as Beat Hazard Ultra. Cold Beam Games' Steve Hunt wrote the PSN release of the music-based shooter himself, which is crazy. The twin-stick shooter generates levels from either the included music or any music on your hard drive. The PSN update adds online play, in either competitive or cooperative modes, so you can subject a friend to a seventeen-minute "In-a-Gadda-da-Vida" gauntlet. You can even turn the music-responsive visual effects up to 200% of normal, to really traumatize your co-op partner.
