Our ol' pal Brentalfloss has channeled the spirit of Schoolhouse Rock to create what may be the most pertinent public service announcement of our time: Beware the allure of buying a new console on launch day.

We've always thought that having magical powers would likely solve every problem in our lives, but the latest song from retro-culture songwriter Brentalfloss (accompanied by special guests Mad in the Moon and Mega Ran) proves that may not be the case ... at least in Final Fantasy's universe.

Nothing quite says "underwater dystopia" like old-timey ragtime tunes. Brentalfloss clearly understands that relationship, as evidenced by the BioShock-themed music video he created with some colleagues recently. And hey, no casual racism! All the fun of the early 20th century without the awful societal norms!

Once again, Brentalfloss is here to hijack your nostalgia, injecting lyrics into the memorable tunes of Capcom's 8-bit classic, DuckTales. No, it's not the Moon (that one's already been done). Instead, we join Scrooge on his fateful trip ... to the Amazon.

If you fondly recall long nights barrel-rolling across the galaxy with Fox and his crew on your N64, this video is for you. If you've ever listened to David Bowie's "Space Oddity" in the angsty privacy of your room, this video is for you. If you ever saw a puppet show at one of your local libraries, this video is for you. If you've never done any of those things, your childhood must have sucked. Geek-gag geniuses brentalfloss and Underbelly threw together a stellar Star Fox-remake of Bowie's "Space Oddity" using hand puppets, paper spaceships and what appears to be a small amount of Fox porn. We think they nailed the entire video in these five words: "Hey Falco, you're a douche," but we could just be projecting.

A lot of girls love Tetris.See, that right there is why we're bloggers and not songwriters: An idea that we can only drum up seven syllables on is enough for YouTube's brentalfloss to write a complete set of lyrics to the soundtrack permanently etched in all our psyches: "Korobeiniki."Be forewarned: This isn't for kids nor the workplace, and some may find it a touch offensive. But we're almost certain he's got his tongue planted firmly in his cheek. Almost. ... His tongue's in his cheek, right?

If you're in the Cool Kids Club, you're already a fan of YouTube's "BrentalFloss," whether it's his Mega Man 2 lyrics, his Final Fantasy theme or his a cappella take on Super Mario Bros. 2. But he's really outdone himself with this glimpse of an alternate universe where Louie Armstrong sung about the Mushroom Kingdom. You can find it right after the break. What's next for BrentalFloss? Well, hopefully it's a hot new theme song for the Joystiq Podcast. But sadly, none of the cast is a classic video game character (as far as we know), so we might be out of luck.
