Swery65, the director of last year's Deadly Premonition, has taken to the Internet in a new blog posting asking for support for a brand new title. He says that his team at Access Games is itching to start a new project, but game design takes more than just dreams and ideas -- apparently it takes time and money as well. And since time is money, he basically just needs money. "I want to make a new game," he wrote. "As much as I want, but that alone is not enough to start the process. Would anyone be ready to invest in us?" Swery doesn't say anything about what kind of game he plans to make, but does promise that he'll "work until it kills me," and that the team will definitely "make something good." Any big-time investors out there willing to call his bluff? It seems like, despite the mixed reception for Deadly Premonition around the world, Swery shouldn't have too much trouble finding a publisher sooner or later. Even if not, there's always Kickstarter, right?

Eager to virtually explore the bizarre world of Agent York in Deadly Premonition, but can't seem to locate a hard copy of the cult hit? Rising Star Games has you covered, as the publisher plans to launch the title digitally through Xbox Live's Games on Demand service next week, on July 5, for an unannounced price -- at least in the UK. We've reached out to DP's North American publisher, Ignition Entertainment, to see if it's landing Stateside as well. So, rather than spending July 5 sweating profusely, how about grabbing a piping hot cup of coffee, turning on the AC, and walking through the doors of perception with us? Don't worry, we'll bring the pie. Update: The game will cost £14.99/€19.99 in the UK/EU, and Rising Star is only handling distribution in PAL territories. We've yet to hear back from Ignition reps.

Deadly Premonition, Access Games' creepy, low-budget survival horror adventure starring an insane FBI investigator, is on the way to Europe. Former Marvelous partner and "Home of Japanese Games" Rising Star Games will publish the surreal open-world Xbox 360 game in Europe this "autumn," for £24.99 ($39), which isn't quite as wallet-friendly as the North American release's $19.99 price point, but is still less than full price. In the press release, Rising Star noted the unusual range of reactions from reviewers, including IGN's 2/10 review. Seriously, this quote is in the press release announcing the game: "Awful in nearly every way... Terrible controls. Terrible pacing. Terrible sound effects. Terrible visuals." Absolutely everything about this game is insane, even the people publishing it.

  • Ignition Entertainment rebrands, focusing on digital content

Deadly Premonition and El Shaddai publisher Ignition Entertainment recently underwent a bit of restructuring, leading it to adopt part of the moniker of its parent company, UTV Group. The publisher, henceforth named UTV Ignition Entertainment, will now focus on delivering downloadable titles on digital platforms including PSN, XBLA, Steam, Facebook, Google Games and the App Store. The change was made to satisfy "a demand to market and publish games at more inclusive price points that maintain the same level of quality as their boxed counterparts," UTV Ignition chairman Hassan Sadiq explained in a recent statement. We suppose that's an admirable goal, though we'll never forgive them for missing the perfect opportunity to name their business "Remix to Ignition." For shame, you guys. For shame.

  • Amazon discount sparks chart-topping sales of Deadly Premonition

A combination of word-of-mouth promotion and a one-day discount has propelled Access Games and Ignition Entertainment's Deadly Premonition to the top of Amazon's Xbox 360 sales chart this week, according to Gamasutra. The low-budget survival horror game received an unusual range of reviews -- from a 2/10 from IGN to Destructoid's 10/10, with everything in between. Those that did like the game describe it as a combination of Twin Peaks–like storytelling and awkward writing, which are often the key ingredients for a cult hit. Of course, the main motivator for Deadly Premonition's uptick in sales was Amazon's discount. On Wednesday, it was the retailer's Deal of the Day, with its price knocked down from $19.99 to $14.98. Apparently, a lot of people were waiting until it dropped under $20. Sadly, the game has returned to its exorbitant original price.

  • ESRB rates Deadly Premonition for PS3

In the ancient times, when Access Games' survival horror game, Deadly Premonition, was known as Rainy Woods, it was a multiplatform PS3/Xbox 360 title. But when Ignition picked it up, it was announced as a $19.99 budget title for Xbox 360 only. However, the ESRB rating for Deadly Premonition, which lists Ignition as the publisher, shows PS3 in the list of platforms. We're just like the game's Agent Francis York Morgan, except instead of a gruesome, unexplained murder, we're investigating an ESRB rating, and instead of looking around a mysterious town in search of clues, we've emailed Ignition. But it's the same basic thing. %Gallery-77892%

Ignition Entertainment, partnering with recent publisher BFF Marvelous Entertainment, has announced a new survival horror game for Xbox 360 called Deadly Premonition. The game is the second original work from Access Games, who created the PS2 stealth game Spy Fiction, and also codeveloped The Sky Crawlers and Ace Combat X. The game stars an FBI agent investigating a murder in Silent Hill a rural town full of unexplained events, mysterious characters, and, apparently, dripping blood. It will feature exploration and driving in addition to fighting creepy Jawas. Ignition predicts an early 2010 release. If this game looks familiar to you, you have a really good memory! It was announced back in 2007 as Rainy Woods, and was a multiplatform release at the time. It's now been renamed and targeted just at the 360. %Gallery-77892%
