Neverwinter unveils the Dragonborn Pack
Were you worried that Neverwinter's fourth major update, Tyranny of Dragons, would feature too few dragons? We're not sure how you could have been worried about that, but the good news is that you can bring even more dragon into your play experience by playing a Dragonborn. No, not that kind of Dragonborn; the kind that's literally half-dragon. Or all dragon, but... humanoid dragon. You get the idea. And you can play one. Buying the game's Dragonborn Legend Pack unlocks the new race as well as a set of cosmetic armor for your new man-dragon, the special Heart of the Red Dragon artifact, and a variety of other rewards including a race change token. The pack is on sale until August 18th, allowing players a chance to get in on the race at a discount. Whether you want to just one-up roleplayers claiming to be half-dragon or can't get enough lizards in your gameplay, you can pick up the pack now if it's your sort of fun.
MMO Burnout: Skyrim's shortcut to mushrooms
"This is Morrowind, not Skyrim," said a stern-faced Dunmer named Adril Arano as he greeted my ship at the Solstheim docks. And just like that, I felt a flood of 2002-ish nostalgia despite the fact that this is actually Skyrim. More precisely, it's Dragonborn, the new (to the PC) DLC pack that expands Bethesda's already sprawling sandbox opus beyond its Nord roots. I'm guessing that a fair few of you have played at least a portion of the game by this point, and the rest of you are probably wondering why it's being written about on an MMO site. Well, that's not a short answer, but as I'm in the habit of looking at non-MMOs that might appeal to MMO players in this column, it would be woefully incomplete without a few deep dives into The Elder Scrolls.

Soothe your soul with Skyrim's Dragonborn bard song, by Malukah
Have you listened to the sound of the Skyrim breeze rustling the cloak of the Dovahkiin as he stands, proud and silent, atop a rugged mountain range? Have you read his thoughts in the frail grass and felt the strength of his resolve? Have you? Listen to this stunning rendition of the Skyrim bard song "The Dragonborn Comes," and you will feel as if you have. Singer Malukah (Malufenix) performs in both English and the language of the dragons in this hauntingly beautiful song -- it has already been used in a mod, and anyone interested can download the track directly from Soundcloud. Personally, we have it on repeat to soothe our sensitive, creative psyches.
