Excitebike World Rally, having just been released in Japan this week, is now available in Europe, ready to delight players with online, tilt-controlled classic motorcycle racing. Final Fight 3 is also out in Europe this week, with classic dude-punching. We're starting to wonder -- is the worldwide Virtual Console release of Final Fight 3 some kind of abstract promotion for Super Street Fighter IV, which features characters and locales that originated in the Final Fight series? Or is it the Wii's equivalent of Final Fight Double Impact? Final Fight 3 (Virtual Console: SNES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) "Aha! I Found It!" Hidden Object Game (WiiWare, 1-4 players, 500 Wii Points) Excitebike World Challenge (WiiWare, 1-4 players, 1,000 Wii Points) Snakenoid (DSiWare, 1 player, 500 DSi Points)

Only one Virtual Console game this week: Final Fight 3. It's more of the same in the third installment of Capcom's classic beat-em-up, which adds custom super moves for each fighter. Check it out in the latest episode of VC in Brief above! Final Fight 3 (SNES, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) Every week, we like to check out what's new on the Virtual Console. We offer these videos as a sort of taste to help you decide whether or not you would want the game in question. We also toss in our own two cents because we're pushy jerks like that.

This week might be a bit lighter on the triple-A WiiWare content than last week (which saw the releases of Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth and The Magic Obelisk), but there are still numerous titles available for Wii and DSi owners. One of which is Final Fight 3! And one more of which, you lucky downloaders, is the promised Fast Draw Showdown, which means you can be shooting at full motion video–captured, Old West–types today. A "yee-haw" would seem appropriate right now. %Gallery-81376%

Another ridiculous overload of content today on the Japanese Wii and DSi Shops. Not so much in WiiWare, whose only release this week is The Incredible (and incredibly avoidable) Maze, but Virtual Console and DSiWare are absolutely stuffed with games! Weirdly, there are two map-based puzzle games on DSiWare. One, Map Map! is a series of puzzle, and the other, Sekai Tanken Kokki World Map, is a quiz game. Also available: a cute puzzle game from the G.G. Series, in which you drop blocks to build a path for a character, a mini version of Paint by DS, more Jake Hunter, and a really cute game from Mother 3 developer Brownie Brown about leading a kappa along paths of coins. Chokkan! Balance Labyrinth (WiiWare, 1 player, 500 Wii Points) Final Fight Tough (Super Famicom, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) Yie Ar Kung Fu 2 (MSX, 800 Wii Points) Namco Quester (Arcade, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) Valkyrie no Densetsu (Arcade, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) Metal Gear (MSX, 1 player, 800 Wii Points) G.G. Series: Black x Block (DSiWare, 1 player, 200 DSi Points) Sekai Tanken Kokki World Map (DSiWare, 1 player, 200 DSi Points) Map Map! By Gotouchi Kentei DS (DSiWare, 1 player, 200 DSi Points) Artist ni Narou! Minna no Nurikai (DSiWare, 1 player, 500 DSi Points) UNO (DSiWare, 1-4 players, 500 DSi Points) Kappa Michi (DSiWare, 1 player, 500 DSi Points) Tantei Saburo Jinguuji: Chained Curse & Mystery Case (DSiWare, 1 player, 500 DSi Points)

  • Final Fight 3, Metal Gear headline Japanese Virtual Console lineup next month

Metal Gear kept Japanese Wii owners waiting last month, as publisher D4 Enterprises missed the game's announced November release window. The tactical espionage action progenitor has snuck into December's lineup, along with another November refugee, Yie Ar Koutei no Gyakushuu. December will also see the arrival of Final Fight 3 for SNES, which features Guy and Haggar along with two new characters, all doing what they do best: punching people, eating garbage, and destroying lots of barrels. Of course, no Virtual Console schedule is complete without shmups, and December will see two: Ordyne, an adorable side-scroller from Namco, and Zaxxon, a classic Sega shooter with a confusing perspective. See the list after the break. [Via Andriasang]
