Microsoft's Games with Gold program will hit Xbox One in June, offering Xbox Live Gold members free games each month, starting with Max: Curse of the Brotherhood and Halo: Spartan Assault. Games with Gold is celebrating its one-year anniversary on Xbox 360 by offering Gold users an extra free game in June: Dark Souls, Charlie Murder and the bonus game, Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition. One Gold membership grants users the free games on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Free games on Xbox One are available to active Gold members only. Stop your Xbox Live Gold subscription and lose the free games you've downloaded. Deals with Gold, which offers discounts on games each month for Gold members, also launches on Xbox One in June. First on sale in June is Ryse: Son of Rome and Forza Motorsport 5, plus a few "surprises," Microsoft says. Xbox One is getting a new feature, the virtual VIP room, which features free games, monthly deals and "other great benefits." This is exclusive to Gold members (not Goldmembers) as well. Hey Trekkers -- got your phasers charged to full? Have you stocked up on Romulan ale and plenty of Klingon qagh? Done all your homework by watching every Star Trek season ever made, including those weird 1970s animated episodes? Then you might, might just be ready for Star Trek Online's Season 5, which is going live today. Season 5 contains a cargo hold full of features and changes, starting with organizing what subscribers (now "Gold members") get as part of their service. The update also includes a duty officer system, an improved space skills system, a revamped tutorial, a currency consolidation, and several other events and activities. In honor of the launch, the team has put subscriptions on sale and is even offering $100 off the price of a lifetime sub. You can read up on all of Season 5's details in the release notes as Cryptic's space baby takes one more step toward its free-to-play conversion.

Captain's Log, Stardate 65284.2... Hello, computer (and players)! It is often said that the voices of the gaming community are some of the loudest, and most passionate, around. This is especially true within the Star Trek Online community. While some may see particular posts made in Cryptic's forums as trolling or whining, others see passion and dedication for making the game they love the best it can be. There is no denying that there will always be those who love to hate and hate to love, but there are also community members out there who are the voices of reason -- they take their time to carefully examine something and provide appropriate and well-thought feedback on how to make something better. As STO is preparing to re-launch with its F2P model, many changes are being pushed to the Tribble test server for players to playtest and provide feedback on. Before the test shards ever open, debates based on the patch notes begin. After a few hours of testing on Tribble, players make their feedback posts public in hopes that developers notice and hear their opinions. The great news here is that the developers are reading each post and have vowed that feedback does not go unnoticed. Since I have been following this feedback closely myself, I thought I should share some of it here. Ensign, warp 10! Let's share some recent community feedback on two of the hottest topics out there...
