"Adorable" is not an adjective often used when describing HBO's Game of Thrones; nor can it be used in reference to George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. Powered by LittleBigPlanet 3, however, the show's theme does have a certain charm, thanks to creator Aaaaalec. [Thanks, @Jamiecolliver!]

  • Canada celebrates Boxing Day with two-game PS4 bundle

Boxing Day, the festive day following Christmas in which folks shop even more is upon us, friends. To celebrate, Sony will offer Canadian players a new PS4 bundle that includes two games. For $450, players can pick up the 500 GB PS4 console with NHL 15 (because Canada) and LittleBigPlanet 3 this Friday, December 26. Pre-orders for the Boxing Day bundle open on Wednesday, and it will be available through "major retailers." Canada's Boxing Day bundle's value compares fairly well to previous ones: Sony offered a PS4 for $400 earlier this month that packed in the buyer's choice of one game out of four options, LittleBigPlanet 3 being one of them. Walmart later sweetened that deal by tacking a $50 gift card onto the offer. While NHL 15 wasn't received well at its launch due to a number of missing modes, some of which returned in via patches, the platforming sequel starring Sackboy did get praise in our review for its "vibrant and inviting" world. • LittleBigPlanet 3 finds Frozen DLC, refuses to Let It Go

Having conquered movies, music and the minds of children everywhere, characters from Disney's animated mega-hit Frozen now join Captain America and Pixar's Toy Story cast among the wide range of licensed costume options found in LittleBigPlanet 3. Included in the DLC are costumes for all four of the game's heroes based on Frozen's fan-favorite characters such as Kristoff, Anna and Elsa. Each costume is available from the PlayStation Network at a price of $2, though you can also buy all of them at once for $6. Doing so will grant you a bonus costume based on Frozen's comedy relief snowman, Olaf. Of course, Frozen's characters would be totally lost without the ice and snow that serves as their film's setting and key theme, so LittleBigPlanet 3 is also receiving the Winter Creator Kit, a free DLC pack filled with new, winter-themed decorations for the prospective level builder. Now, the next time somebody asks you to build a snowman, you can be prepared. [Image: Sony]

For those who couldn't make it to Las Vegas this weekend and have a few dozen hours free, Sony has compiled footage of every panel hosted at the recent PlayStation Experience event. It's not surprising to see that most of the panels focus on flagship PlayStation franchises, but there's still quite a bit of variety available. Retrospectives on both LittleBigPlanet and God of War are hosted by the series' respective development teams, while this discussion on the future of VR technology in gaming features numerous developers discussing their experiences and plans for Sony's Project Morpheus VR initiative. A full list of all 29 panels available can be found at the PlayStation.blog, and you can find the PlayStation Experience keynote embedded beyond the break. To celebrate Green Monday - yes, today is yet another retail holiday - Walmart is attaching a $50 gift card to online orders of Sony's new choose-your-own-game PlayStation 4 bundle. Alongside the console, the $400 bundle offers buyers a digital copy of either NBA 2K15, Destiny, LittleBigPlanet 3 or Far Cry 4. If purchased from Walmart's website, the retailer will toss in a $50 gift card valid at any Walmart store, and offers either free shipping or local in-store pickup. [Image: Sony]

If you didn't manage to snatch up one of the 20th anniversary PS4s that went on sale yesterday, Project SkyLight can help your PS4 stand out from the crowd. A PlayStation Blog post explains that Project SkyLight will involve the arrival of hard drive faceplates, with designs featuring LittleBigPlanet 3 and The Order: 1886 kicking off the initiative. Both faceplates are currently available for $24.99 apiece through Sony's online store, but if you'd prefer to hold out for a different theme, the related post notes plans to launch additional designs "in the near future." Project SkyLight also involves plans for "a few other fun enhancements," with further details said to be shared "soon." If either of the announced faceplates pique your interest, consider making your purchase sooner rather than later: faceplates are being offered in "very small quantities," and considering how quickly PlayStation fans can deplete limited stock, Project SkyLight's original pieces could go quickly. • LittleBigPlanet 3 review: Knitting lessons

PS4, PS3 There's a moment in LittleBigPlanet 3 where Hugh Laurie's villainous Newton, an effete British lightbulb with an egg timer built into his bowler hat, faces down his conscience, berating him with his greatest fear: that nothing he creates will ever be good enough, has never been good enough. It's a fear that LittleBigPlanet players will be familiar with, given the creative possibilities presented by the series. The feeling is more pronounced this time around, and the overwhelming diabolical genius at work in LittleBigPlanet 3 is almost a cause for alarm. The first and second games in the series felt like a toy box, with developer Media Molecule providing about 3 or 4 hours of examples of how it could be utilized. In contrast, LittleBigPlanet 3, now helmed by Sumo Digital, is the first to feel like the pre-formed game at its core is meant to be a showstopper, an abundant showcase of greatness, a dare to the player to push the envelope even further. Lucky for us, for those who decide to rise to the challenge, they have never made creation easier or more satisfying than it is now.

Assuming you're willing to brave Black Friday crowds, the PlayStation Blog has detailed two new PS4 bundles that should help you unwind over the holidays. Both $399.99 bundles include 500 GB PS4s, with their differences lying in included games – the first offers a disc-based copy of Grand Theft Auto 5 and a download voucher for The Last Of Us: Remastered, while the second includes a physical copy of LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham and a voucher for LittleBigPlanet 3. The PS Blog notes that both bundles won't be offered for long, so you might have to face that frenzied Black Friday horde if you'd like to pick up either version. [Image: PlayStation]

  • LittleBigPlanet 3 will support past DLC, collections

The LittleBigPlanet series has an expansive DLC wardrobe, including level packs and themed costumes, but it seems like none of it will ever go out of style - all free and purchased content released for LittleBigPlanet and LittleBigPlanet 2 will carry over to the PS3 and PS4's LittleBigPlanet 3, a PlayStation Blog post has revealed. Past content can be transferred via a "simple re-download from LBP3's in-game store," which packs it all back into the PopIt menu that hovers beside your character. Progress made in yesteryear isn't forgotten, either - "every single Costume Piece, Material, Object, Music Track and any other creative goodies that you have collected in your previous adventures" can also be brought into LBP3. As a refresher, any meticulously-crafted levels you made in previous LBP games can be found in the continuation of LittleBigPlanet Earth, which will let you "pick up exactly where you left off with your published creations." Custom-created content can also be transferred to a PS4 by publishing levels littered with related Prize Bubbles, then returning in LBP3 to pick up those materials. Whichever console you choose, you can reunite with Sackboy on November 18 (or November 26 in Europe). If you already know you're interested, mind the PlayStation-themed pre-order costumes before you make your purchase. [Image: Media Molecule]

European gamers will be waiting a bit longer than their American counterparts for the debut of the PlayStation's creative platformer LittleBigPlanet 3, as the game has been delayed by one week. "We're currently working our socks off with Sackboy and friends to get the game to you as soon as possible but it's recently come to our attention that we're going to have to move the release of LittleBigPlanet 3 in Europe by one week to give Sackboy the best opportunity to shine," reads a notice on the European PlayStation.blog. "This was a very difficult decision to make but since LittleBigPlanet is such a globally appealing game, it seemed only right to give more people the chance to get to know Sackboy and his new friends." LittleBigPlanet 3 is now slated to reach Sony consoles in North America on November 18 while the game will launch in Europe on November 26. [Image: Sony]

A new PS4 bundle appeared on Amazon UK this week, packing LittleBigPlanet 3 in with the 500 GB console. While the bundle has yet to be confirmed by Sony, it is listed at £386.78 ($627.26) on the retailer's site. One other listing for the bundle surfaced last week on Amazon's Spain site, though without a price attached. LittleBigPlanet 3 is the next entry in Sony's popular platforming brand, first announced at Sony's E3 2014 press conference in June. The game will launch on November 18 PS3 and PS4. Likewise, the Amazon UK listing for the bundle includes a November 21 release date for the console package. We reached out to Sony to confirm the bundle's existence and whether it will launch in North America. [Image: Amazon UK]

  • Run Sackboy! Run! starts an endless stitch-hunt on Vita, mobile

Sony is pumping up the volume ahead of LittleBigPlanet 3 with Run Sackboy! Run!, a free-to-play side-scroller on its way to Vita , iOS and Android sometime in October. Going by Senior Producer Tom O'Connor's announcement on the PlayStation Blog, it sounds like an endless auto-runner in the vein of Canabalt and Jetpack Joyride. O'Connor said players use tap and swipe movements to make Sackboy avoid obstacles and for as long as possible stay ahead of the chasing Negativitron, which LBP2 players may remember as that game's main antagonist. The ragdoll hero can collect bubbles to unlock costumes and upgrades, as well as use power-ups such as jet-packs and gliders.

The votes are in, and the winner of the Gamescom 2014 Awards is ... *drumroll* Oh, you saw the headline and figured out the pun already? Well, you're right; it's Evolve, the 4v1 monster-on-human huntfest from Left 4 Dead developer Turtle Rock Studios. The game took home not only the award for "Best of Gamescom," but also the awards for "Best Console Game Microsoft Xbox," "Best PC Game," "Best Action Game" and "Best Online Multiplayer Game." Other highlights include Super Smash Bros. taking home the "Best Mobile Game" award for its 3DS iteration, while its console counterpart took home the "Most Wanted Consumer Award," a title that premiered at this year's ceremony. LittleBigPlanet 3 also won multiple awards, specifically the "Best Social / Casual / Online Game" award and the "Best Family Game" award. We're relatively sure that Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call won the award for "Best Simulation Game" due to its simulation of music, but we can pretend it won because it simulates being an adorable JRPG character singing along to catchy tunes, too. Check out the full list of winners after the break.

The private beta for LittleBigPlanet 3 begins in August, a community manager writes on the LittleBigPlanet fansite. Media Molecule has hand-picked a small number of members from that site to receive beta invites, set to be distributed via private message in the "next couple of weeks." Sony announced LittleBigPlanet 3 during its E3 conference this year, and it's due to hit PS4 and PS3 in November. We got to play a level designed to show off the new characters in LittleBigPlanet 3 during E3, and found it to be charming with tons of fun level-creation opportunities. Only one disappointment: "Once again, certain parts of the game will be closed off to you if you don't have the appropriate number of play partners." We have to interact with actual people? Fine.

Though initially announced during a decidedly PlayStation 4-focused press conference at E3, LittleBigPlanet 3 will also grace the last generation of Sony's home consoles. Following the debut of the suitably adorable trailer seen above, fans asked LittleBigPlanet community manager Steven Isbell if the game might appear on the PlayStation 3. "Yes, it will be available on PS3 too," Isbell replied, before adding that he would have "many more exciting details" to share at some unknown point in the future. As we reported during Sony's press conference, LittleBigPlanet 3 is slated to hit the PlayStation 4 in November, but Isbell offers no timeframe for when the cuddly, roll your own platforming adventure might reach the PlayStation 3. In the meantime, take a look at our hands-on preview of the game. If nothing else, there's an adorable burlap bird you really should get acquainted with. [Image: Sony]
