Watch Microsoft's big PC event right here
Microsoft's "Imagine What You'll Do" event is just under an hour away. The company is expected to show off new hardware and software at the New York City show -- you can read all about it here -- including an all-in-one Surface PC, some major Windows 10 updates (including that new version of Paint) and possibly even an Amazon Echo competitor. Of course we're there, and you'll be able to follow along with our liveblog for second-by-second analysis, but there's also a livestream for you to watch. The event kicks off at 10AM ET, and after it's over you'll be able to watch a replay of the whole thing in the same player.
Microsoft unveils new Windows 10 devices on October 6th
Microsoft will host an event featuring new Windows 10 devices plus remarks from CEO Satya Nadella on October 6th in New York City. The briefing (fittingly) begins and 10AM ET. Microsoft is light on specifics, but it promises Windows 10 hardware, so we might get a closer look at things like the Surface Hub, a product we recently learned will start shipping to customers on January 1st, 2016. That one is priced between $7,000 and $20,000. Plus, there's always the Surface tablet, Lumia smartphones, Xbox One and PC devices, too. And we can't forget about HoloLens, Microsoft's augmented reality headset.
Microsoft invites us to mystery event, April 12th! (update: for Pink phones?)
Well... we don't know what to make of this one. Microsoft just snail-mailed us a circular package with an invitation to an event on April 12th in San Francisco. They also tell us that it's "time to share," and apparently intend that sharing to go on between young, attractive Urban Outfitters models (according to the images on the notice). Okay. So what is this? Pink? Courier (gasp!)? Windows Phone 7 Series Phone Series 7? Only Microsoft knows for sure. We're searching for more info, so stay tuned! One more pic after the break. Update: Windows expert Paul Thurrott says definitively that this will not be a Courier event, rather it will be entirely focused on Pink phones, as does CNET's Ina Fried, who adds that they'll be released on Verizon as rumored. We can't say we're surprised, but we're seriously hoping Microsoft makes that tablet a reality. [Thanks, Kevin]
