What is it about Darrowshire and stunning machinima? This is the second video in about a month to come of the Eastern Plaguelands quest line. Last month, we featured the work of Cranius and his musical talents. Now we're pleased to feature a star-studded film by Firebolt Productions, Acolyte 1.5. You may recognize them from their second place win in the Warcraftmovies Christmas Spirit Contest, Ugly Goblin's Christmas.Acolyte 1.5 is not without faults, as it feels like half of the video has ads for websites. However, what we are finally presented with is an engaging storyline full of action and excitement. Don't miss the voice acting by Clint Hackleman, Drewbie, and Olibith, as well as the musical composition by Nathan Allen Pinard![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

Baron Soosdon has been threatening to make a plotline machinima for quite some time, so it's good to see that he followed through with it! Kake Buk Island: Episode 1 - "You Damn Beach" is about an orc, Thok, that wakes up on a strange island. While exploring the island, he befriends two girls, Noki and Jiki, that need his help rescuing their pig from the sinister gnome, Sergei Gnum. All is not as it seems on Kake Buk Island, but I guess we'll have to wait for Episode 2 to find out!KBI: YDB has an incredible line-up of special guests, including Drewbie, Olibith, and Baron himself, but I'm not sure what was up with some of the dialogue. Nevertheless, the cross-blend of World of Warcraft and Unreal Tournament 2004 made for a surreal set for Baron to weave his magic. As always, if you enjoyed the machinima, download the high quality version! If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

Bitfilm, a festival that takes place in Hamburg, Germany, announced the shortlist today for their sixth annual event. Among the nominees are a whopping three from World of Warcraft. Despite WoW machinima only being a formidable contender in the last two years, Olibith took home the top prize last year with I'm Only Sleeping! The WoW nominees for 2008 are: Baron Soosdon - I'm So Sick Dopefish - Among Fables and Men Olibith - The Ballad of the Sex Junkie From today until July 1st, you can sign up for an account and vote on your favorite machinima. (It has been called to my attention that there may possibly be subliminal images of questionable content that are peppered throughout this video. Due to the fact that they're not more than a few frames at a time, they're barely visible unless you pause and look for them or download the video and go frame by frame. However, if this offends you, I strongly advise not to watch.)In Olibith's world, oversharing is a three course meal, with Tunasushi as the main dish. He serves it up with sides of romance, revenge, and silly interpretations of the Japanese language. When assembled, it makes for an interesting, if a bit perplexing, dining experience.Artistically, Olibith's latest machinima is beautiful. He employs vibrant colors, custom sets, and even manages to tone down on words that would make your mother blush. I only wish he'd developed the plot a bit more, as it ends too suddenly. Could there be a sequel in the works? If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

World of Warcraft's favorite naughty Frenchman, Olibith, has created a peace offering of sorts for the community. His latest film, Tunasushi, would actually rate PG-13! It is the story of a young man that has vowed to avenge the death of his family. If you're a fan of Olibith, it should come as no surprise that this machinima is very odd. He uses colors that pop, custom sets, and language that we're pretty sure isn't actually Japanese. While the ending is quite abrupt, we're hoping that means there will be a sequel! If you have machinima or movie suggestions from any MMO, please send them to machinima AT massively DOT com, along with any information you might have about them.

Before Olibith created award-winning machinimas, such as I'm Only Sleeping and the Never Stay Tuned series, he was a wee Urban Spaceman. This short music video is just another example of an artist overcoming their earlier obstacles and going on to greatness! You can see the Fraps watermark, there are all sorts of cheesy effects, and rumor has it that he didn't even know what machinima was back then! If you haven't seen Olibith's latest work, Never Stay Tuned 3, you'll be shocked at the difference in quality. If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

Now that Baron Soosdon has landed a comfy job as Community Manager at Machinima.com, he has time to make lots of movies -- or trailers, at least! His next project is a cross-game video, Kake Buk Island, using World of Warcraft and Unreal Tournament 2004. There is an extensive list of guest voice actors tied to the project, including Drewbie (Insert cameo joke here!), Olibith, Tuesday Smith, and Vilaeryn. Since this movie seems to have a plot, yet he doesn't describe it to us, let's make one up for him![Thanks, Baron!]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

The reception to Darrowshire has been so great that I wanted to highlight Big Blue Dress, the Warcraftmovies recommended film with over three million views on YouTube. Cranius didn't need a fancy Model or Map Viewer program. He was able to capture footage in-game that conveyed what he needed to for the scenes over two years ago, yet the movie is still popular to this day.If you liked this video, you can download it on Filefront or get the song from the Collective Order website. An interesting tidbit to note is that Olibith responded to this video with his first ever machinima, Olibith the Urban Spaceman![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

Episode 29, or XXIX, finds him in Quel'danas and killing Kael'thas. At what point do you think that he'll get a lifetime achievement award? With 71 machinimas under his belt, of which none of them have been sabotaged by me, and one WCM recommendation, we definitely think that he qualifies![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

The Bitfilm Festival is currently taking machinima submissions until March 15th, 2008. Last year, Olibith took the top prize, with "I'm Only Sleeping". This year, with machinima more popular than ever, the competition is heating up.Alin Putinelu decided to submit this humorous documentary into the contest. He walks the viewers through the development process of a video game, while showing images and video of WoW. While I found it informative, I don't know if it's award-winning material. I came across this machinima while on my quest for the perfect video Valentine. Olibith weaved a cute World of Warcraft tale of love to the sweet sounds of Frank and Nancy Sinatra. The best part was that he appears to have dedicated it to his wife and child. Say it with me now -- "Awww!"While most of Olibith's material is pretty racy, this video isn't so bad. I must warn the viewers that there is some innuendo, though. Overall, I thought it was adorable to see the two gnomes experiencing the joys of courtship.

You know you've arrived in the World of Warcraft community when the official website has a writeup on your exploits. The European version of the community site has two such writeups, on notable machinima artists whose names you may quickly recognize. Baron Soosden and Olibith are both highly skilled video-makers, and here at Massively we've noted that by featuring them in the Cinemassively column several times since we launched. Over at WoW Insider? Fuggedaboutit. Those two should have frequent poster cards for the number of times they've shown up in stories. The two writeups at the WoW EU site are must-reads, then, for anyone interested in the field of in-game video production. Olibith's interview (which was also discussed at WoW Insider) features his take on the EU WoW scene, his efforts to get the funny 'just right', and some great advice for new filmmakers: make it for yourself, not the audience! Meanwhile, Baron Soosden's brand-new interview delves into the technical process behind making his moving pictures, as well as looking at the truly unique sense of community seen in EU machinima.Check below the cut for my personal favorite of Soosden's videos: I'm So Sick.

From the creative mind of Baron Soosdon comes the season one finale of his Unlimited Escapism series, volume 4. While there may be, in his own words, no plot and no point, there are stunning visuals and a great soundtrack for your viewing pleasure. If you're looking for tons of special effects, though, you may not enjoy it, as he wanted to keep it simple. However, if you're looking for a cameo of Olibith, he has you covered. In his blog, he states that 2008 will bring two or three more Unlimited Escapisms and then the series will be finished. Baron also mentions changes that we can expect in his video format, as he is switching to h.264 encoding. Here's to a new year, Baron-style!Previously on Moviewatch...
