Note: Not everything in this video is safe for work.Olibith's Never Stay Tuned series is more than just a collection of videos. The original series has come to be an institution, filled with fun, glory, and legend! Olibith has created the finest collection of parody and culture references in the machinima world. He's now back with the last installment Never Stay Tuned 4.The guest list featured in Never Stay Tuned 4 is a wonderful nod to the work Olibith has done. You'll see work by Baron Soosdon, Ian Beckman, the AFK pl@yers, Pinkhair, and Goldskin. Each has brought unique aspect to the work, and the vast collaboration has created something epic. You'll probably recognize the unique styles, but there's an itemized credit at the end. Never Stay Tuned 4 was as hilarious as the first ones in the series. Now, if you didn't like those previous videos, then chances are that the fourth installment won't radically change your mind. There's quite a few jokes and gags in the video that are a little rough or tawdry, and a few spots of nudity and violence, which will also affect your opinion. The entire video is incredibly well done, with absolutely amazing graphic work. Go to the effort to check it out, but take your time do so: the video clocks in over 18 minutes. Interested in the wide world of machinima? We have new movies every weekday here on WoW Moviewatch! • WoW Moviewatch: Candy Comes Out

Pinkhair submits Candy Comes Out as part of Machinima.com's Candy Corn and Crackheads Contest. It's a pretty short video, with a lot of nice subtle touches. Machinima.com lists it as a comedy, but I thought it was more of a horror theme. It sure as heck is one of the creepiest bits I've seen for a little while. The story is quick. It opens with a gnomish couple watching a horror flick in a movie theatre. After the movie is over, the couple has a little chat that reveals the dangerous premise of the machinima's action -- if you open someone's head, candy comes out! I want to make sure to point out that, when the gnomes are chatting it up after the theatre, the gnome man is wearing an outfit incredibly reminscent to Michael Jackson's trademark red leather jacket. It really helps underline the homage of the opening sequence. Ultimately, I really enjoyed the piece. Its ambiance and theme is strong, and the video is incredibly well made. Good luck to Pinkhair! The winners of the WeGame machinima contest were finally announced last night. Of course, I blogged about all three top World of Warcraft entries already. Pinkhair's The Robber Baron of Warsong Gulch took first place, Martin Falch's Divided Soul took third, and Firebolt Production's The Way of Life took fourth. Congratulations to everyone!Since the winners were already discussed, I'd like to show off some of the Honorable Mentions. Today's video comes from Mike "Spiff" Booth, otherwise known as the guy that makes Jonathan Coulton music video machinimas. It may surprise you to know that the soundtrack to Live is by Paul and Storm, though! If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

Now that the submission deadline for the WeGame machinima contest has passed, things can really start heating up. Ending with a total of 120 entries, word on the street is that there are at least six serious contenders for the top prize. Yesterday, I featured Martin Falch's split personality drama, Divided Soul. Today we're going to revisit the nastiest guy in Warsong Gulch. It's been eight months since we were first introduced to B.Z. Caddington, the profiteer and PvP twink, in A Warsong Carol. Pinkhair has brought him back in silent movie-style as he tries to stop the alliance sneaking around his base. This is a machinima that you'll have to pay special attention to. All of the dialogue is on text cards on the screen in order to give it that authentic feel. You can also expect custom models, little inside jokes here and there, excellent editing, and all-around evil. Now that's what I call a good time!If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

  • WoW Moviewatch: Baron Soosdon and Pinkhair win Synergy contest by a landslide

When I wrote about the Warcraftmovies Synergy contest for machinima three days ago, I had no idea just how close of a fight it would be. The results are in and it was literally a battle to the death. Baron Soosdon and Pinkhair beat Martin Falch by a whopping three votes, with final scores of 299 to 296. Over the next few days, we'll be looking at the winners and giving requested feedback to some of the ones that didn't place.Baron Soosdon and Pinkhair's machinima followed along with the Busted script, but there were multiple little touches that really made the film. In addition to weaving his 3d magic throughout, Pinkhair also used a third party program, Crazytalk, to animate the lips of one of the characters. Caruu mastered the sound, while he, Drewbie, Olibith, and Selserene voice acted. There are also tributes to the great Shepiwot, Drewbie's character from The Grind, the Robber Baron of Warsong Gulch, and the cast of Snacky's Journal. Even I played a part in it by ruining their PR campaign -- or so they say! Try to keep in mind that neither script was good, so the contenders didn't have a lot to work with in the way of variation. Now that it's over, I hope that Warcraftmovies will use a different method for their contest next time![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls! What you are about to see will amaze you. In what is shaping up to be the most intense Player vs. Player battle that WoW machinima has ever seen, two contestants are facing off for your vote. The Warcraftmovies Synergy contest entrants were given the choice of two (absolutely horrible) scripts, which they had to follow to the letter, but were allowed to add their own special touches to. The result is an epic fight to the death.Though there are indeed six entries, most votes are going to our main two contenders. In one corner, we have Martin Falch, responsible for the incredible feature-length film, Tales of the Past 3, which just crossed one million downloads in seven months! He chose to work with the script, The Best Kept Secret of the Horde. In the other corner we have the dream team of Baron Soosdon and Pinkhair, with help from Selserene, Olibith, Caruu, and Drewbie. Their chosen script was Busted. Only one contestant will go home with the $1500 USD Warcraftmovies contract.Voting ends on Thursday, July 31st and the winners will be announced the following day. Check out the videos and help decide on who will win in this tight race!

Baron Soosdon asked me to hold off on showing the last of his Worldwide Invitational machinima contest entries, Final Warcraft VI, until he "remastered" it. Apparently he fine tuned some things that he previously rushed on to meet the deadline. Of course, he had a little help from his friends -- Pinkhair, Caruu, and Mister "Don't forget me!" Drewbie. For all the Final Fantasy VI fans, this machinima closely follows the cinematic ending for the Playstation version.WARNING: Certain browsers are having crashing issues with this movie, so we moved it after the jump.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

  • WoW Moviewatch: Succession teaser

Today's Moviewatch is a mystery that we're looking to solve. Pinkhair, a well-known 3D WoW machinimator that often helps others with their projects, has released a teaser for his upcoming movie, Succession. The film is due in Summer 2008, but the problem is that we have no clue what it's about!Pinkhair's work on this teaser was so good that many WCM commenters accused him of stealing scenes from a Blizzard cinematic trailer. However, he released a picture of his Arthas model to reassure them that the talent was all his. We'll just have to wait and see if the movie is worth it, as the clip is way too short to tell us anything.[Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

The AETG, or Azerothians for the Ethical Treatment of Gnomes, won't be happy about this video. It looks like Pinkhair isn't the only 3D animator around, as Macky shows us what he does in his spare time -- gnome punt. This clip is ridiculously short, but we like the rendering that we see so far. It claims to be part of a Gnome Chronicles, so we look forward to seeing something longer in the series![Via Warcraftmovies.com]If you have any suggestions for WoW Moviewatch, you can mail them to us at machinima AT wowinsider DOT com.Previously on Moviewatch ...

  • WoW Moviewatch: Horde, Episode 1

    02.26.2008

Pinkhair dug deep into the archives of WoW machinima to recommend this gem. Horde - Episode 1: "That's how we role!" is parody of popular movies from yesteryear. When a group of strangers are jailed for not roleplaying on Maelstrom, they are assigned an essay to identify themselves. What role will each of them fulfill?I have to say that I didn't pick up on the cues as to what movie they were mainly referring to until the very end. If you are a fan of 80s movies, I think that you'll find this movie pretty amusing. Due to this being a guild-based movie, Slurvin was unable to create a sequel, as the group broke up afterwards. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing another comedy like this, commercials and all, in the future.[Thanks, Pinkhair!]Previously on Moviewatch ...

Machinimators have quickly learned that if they want special 3D animations or sets done, Pinkhair is the man for the job. Previously known for his Warcraftmovies Christmas Spirit Contest entry that narrowly missed being in the top three, he has helped artists such as BaronSoosdon and Ian Beckman in his spare time.In honor of Olibith receiving double platinum on WCM for "I'm only sleeping", Pinkhair finished a timelapse of the saucy filmmaker using Lightwave. He has stated that if there is interest in learning how to do it, he may post a tutorial. If you would like to see a tutorial, join #machinima on Quakenet IRC and let him know! I know that there were only three winners to the Warcraftmovies Christmas Spirit Contest, but some of the runners up were really good! The fourth place tale was inspired by A Christmas Carol. Pinkhair was limited by the 8 minute maximum rule, so he expanded it a bit for the viewers! Please note that the version on Warcraftmovies is slightly different from this one. When the Robber Baron of Warsong Gulch, Caddington, goes to sleep one night, he is visited by three ghosts. When they attempt to show him his evil ways, he is indifferent. Will he have a change of heart or will he die? Pinkhair did quite a good job for this being his first completed movie. I have a feeling we'll be seeing him in the winners circle in the future![Via Warcraftmovies.com]Previously on Moviewatch...
