Google Photos will let you order same-day prints from Walmart or CVS
Google Photos has given users the option to create and buy physical photo books since 2017 -- now it looks like the app is expanding to offer prints and canvas prints as well. In an APK teardown of the latest version of the app, 9to5Google found that Google plans to work with CVS or Walmart to deliver same-day pickup for 4x6 inch photo prints, as well as a number of options for canvas prints with three-day print times.
Amazon takes aim at Shutterfly with photo printing service
Photo printing is the latest addition to Amazon's slate of services and that's not great news for the likes of Shutterfly. Amazon Prints outputs snapshots for as little as 9 cents each and offers photo books starting at $20. What's more, options like post cards and calendars will soon be added, too. The online retailer debuted Prime Photos in 2014, giving subscribers unlimited photo storage as part of their $99 annual fee. It also offers a standalone storage option for $60 a year. With Amazon Prints, the company has a way to make money off of the photos it's storing for customers.
Mirror's Edge, Mass Effect limited edition art prints for sale now
In the art world, it's all about ME – Mass Effect and Mirror's Edge, that is. DICE and BioWare are selling a few museum-grade, limited edition prints via art dealership Cook & Becker, available now.There are 50 copies of each print from Mirror's Edge and the Mass Effect series, though Mirror's Edge offers "large" editions of four prints, limited to 18 each. Every print, large or standard, is hand-numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity.The large Mirror's Edge prints run, in inches, from 30 x 20 to 30 x 48, and cost $500 to $750. Standard prints of Mirror's Edge and Mass Effect scenes aren't much smaller and run $235 to $325, except for Mass Effect's The Team, which is $2,500, at 32 inches by 70 inches.Check out the Mirror's Edge and Mass Effect prints on Cook & Becker for all your holiday shopping and/or selfish needs.
FigurePrints now offering goblin and worgen character options
FigurePrints, the service who takes your WoW characters and turns them into a 3D replica miniature, has updated their lineup to include goblin and worgen characters! Players can go to the FigurePrints site, import their character information from the Blizzard Armory, and start customizing their personal WoW character figure or bust. Also, FigurePrints is now offering armor customization all the way up to raid tier 11 sets and PvP season 9 for your character to wear. People have been asking when goblins and worgen would be available in the FigurePrints store ever since Cataclysm was released. I know a few people with FigurePrints of their characters and they are pleased with the results. One of the coolest aspects of FigurePrints and their 3D printers are watching how the figures are actually made. Thankfully, FigurePrints has a whole page dedicated to seeing how it works! There goes 10 minutes of my day...
PrintWarcraft.com offers original WoW posters
It's time for me to put my money where my mouth is. A while back, I tweeted that if they released official prints of the Gnomeregan propaganda poster, I'd buy one. I'd like to thank Blizzard, because they are now offering a large selection of original posters through Printwarcraft.com. Selections include the Gnomeregan and Echo Isles propaganda posters, as well as artwork from many past major patches and in-game events, even as far back as the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj and the Shadow of the Necropolis. Most of the art is actually familiar, having appeared on various websites and art books long ago, but it's still pretty awesome stuff, and more than worth hanging on a wall. If your home or office has some bare walls, this might be a good excuse to fill them. You can check at the selection at PrintWarcraft.com.
Print Warcraft opens its doors
The newest in Blizzard's ever-expanding line of customizable merchandise, Print Warcraft just opened its doors to the public. Like FigurePrints, the site allows you to create merchandise based on your in-game characters, this time art like posters and prints. While we've been having a bit difficulty accessing the site, likely due to launch-day growing pains, we know that the service allows a ton of customization options. Start by selecting your character, realm, and print size. Then choose from a number of templates, borders, backgrounds, character poses, pets, and more! The prices range from $17.99 for a 12x18 print to $29.99 USD for a 40x27 poster. If you're actually able to place an order, please let us know how it comes out when you get it in the mail! If the price is right and so is the quality, it might be a decent Winter Veil gift to deck somebody's walls with. Or yours.
TurpsterVision: FigurePrints review
We can't believe it either – Turpster has been let loose on WoW.com to bring you videos from in and around the World of Warcraft! You've heard him on The WoW Insider Show now see him on TurpsterVision right here on WoW.com This past week I undertook an epic unveiling of not so epic proportions in opening up my very own FigurePrint. Fortunately for you, the lucky viewer, I've captured this live on video -- a first encounter of the most awesome kind -- which can be found below the break!The first thing that struck me upon opening the package was the weight of it all; the dome is real glass and is a fantastic way to display your character, keeping them free from dust and many other household evils that lurk outside of Azeroth. The reason I would want to go for a FigurePrint would be to immortalize my character, preserving the culmination of four and a half years hard gaming, and this extra layer of protection allows that to happen. It does however present a barrier, much like we have when playing the game, where we can't touch our character (This statement takes on a whole different meaning with some of Night Elf female mailbox dancers out there) but obviously it serves the purpose of protecting the FigurePrint so I guess I can let it slide.Click on past the break to catch the video and check out the gallery getting up close and personal with FigurePrints!
Ding! webcomic is looking for your stories
Webcomic artist Scott Kurtz, the guy behind PvP and (more importantly) Ding! has recently posted that he'll be changing the format of his World of Warcraft themed comic. Currently, Ding! follows the comical exploits of his fictional guild, Panda Attack, but as of now that's all going to be changing.Instead, Scott is looking to make his comic highlight the community, and be something of a community effort. He's looking for you, the players, to submit true stories about you and your guild. Has something hilarious or awesome (or hilariously awesome) happened to your crew recently? Submit it to Kurtz, and it just might be immortalized in Ding! If your story is featured in the comic, you'll be rewarded with an 11x17 print of the comic itself, which is pretty cool. It's always nice to have little memories of your guild in physical form like that. Typically you'd need to pay a decent amount of money for comissions from an artist as well known on the net as Kurtz, so that's a sweet little bonus beyond just having your story featured.The full details on how to submit your story can be found on the PvPonline website, and I definitely recommend sending something in! If you or your guild gets featured, you should let us know, too! We'd love to hear about it, and it would probably be shown off on our site as well. That's two times the cool!

A crafter going by the nom-de-Etsy cyberhadji has created some incredible original Mario character art, and printed it onto (scans of) thematically appropriate vintage book pages. The effect is convincing enough, but by using photo paper instead of actual book pages, he is able to create non-fading images. The print-over-book-page technique elevates what would be lovely fan art to art, we think.In addition to the Bloober pictured above, cyberhadji has created a Frog Mario, a Baby Mario, a Lakitu, and a Cheep Cheep. There's also a wonderful series of Katamari Damacy prints that, regrettably, aren't appropriate for display on a DS blog (what with there not being a Katamari game and all.) These are perfect for the "vaguely classy but still totally nerdy" look we're all trying to pull off in our homes.[Via Wonderland]
