The Awesomenauts will spring into action on PlayStation 4 this March 4 and 5 in North America and Europe, respectively. The '80s cartoon-inspired 2D MOBA from Ronimo Games will be known as Awesomenauts Assemble! on Sony's next-gen platform and will be available for $9.99. "Awesomenauts Assemble! brings 7 all-new characters to the console, a boatload of skins to customize your characters, a new map, improved controls, and a lot more upcoming content," said Fabian Akker, designer and co-founder at Ronimo. That upcoming content is likely to come in the form of Starstorm, the crowdfunded expansion to the original game that is expected to be complete by the end of the year.

Romino Games has hinted at a PC release of its sidescrolling strategy title (man, it still feels weird to type that combination of genres) Swords and Soldiers since it first launched on WiiWare last June. Apparently, it firmed up the game's PC release plans over the weekend -- Steam is currently listing the game's launch date as this coming Wednesday, December 1. No pricing information was included on the game's info page, though we imagine it will resemble the game's $10 price point on Wii. Unless, of course, the PC port is infused with an additional helping of MoreFun -- we wouldn't mind paying a small surcharge for an extra shot of that vitally important attribute.

  • De Blob creators make original RTS for WiiWare

The creators of the original de Blob (i.e. the flash game, not the THQ ports) have revealed they are working on an original real-time strategy game for Nintendo's WiiWare service. Romino Games' Swords & Soldiers is a side-scrolling RTS with three opposing factions and split-screen multiplayer. The term "side-scrolling RTS," together with the screenshots, remind us a bit of Dragon Force (although equally cool, we mean the Sega Saturn title, not the band). No price has been revealed for the game, currently placed in a Q4 2008 launch window. Consider our interests officially piqued. Gallery: Swords & Soldiers (WiiWare) [Via NWF]
