Omron shows off facial-recognition software
Remember the cellphone with Omron's facial-recognition software we checked out a little while ago? Well, Omron has been showing it off lately, and they've released an English video recorded at the Security Show Japan to provide more details. The software's full name is the OKAO Vision Face Recognition Sensor, and it works with Symbian, embedded Linux and other mobile OSes (though not, apparently, PalmOS or Windows Mobile). Omron says it will work with any mobile device that uses a camera. The video's worth checking out if you can handle a 20MB download. If not, there's a press release that has a little more info.
