SportsHD launches HD production company
Not meant to compete with live HD sports broadcasts, SportsHD has created a new production company to take you behind the sports scene. Focusing on what the company calls "docu-sports" projects, SportsHD will likely show a side to the sports and athletes that you won't see on the live event coverage.
The first SportsHD production hits the airwaves in August with the Summer World Games held in Izmir, Turkey. No details are available on which providers may carry the HD coverage. SportsHD is based in Dever; hey, isn't Dish Network a Colorado-based company? While an HD picture is nice, content is the key. It will be interesting to see if SportsHD can capture content that is compelling enough to watch.
