This month, NTT DoCoMo plans to release a phone that can slow down a speaker's voice by up to 0.7x — it's yet
another phone targeted at the elderly who can presumably
benefit from processing the slower dialogue. We're totally curious about what this actually sounds like, and we're
hoping it's not like a 45 played back at 33 1/3. The phone is designed with simplicity in mind by keeping a small
number of main menu items and making icons large, which also serves to increase screen visibility. The phone also
includes a pedometer and an emergency alarm that can blast at 80dB, which you'd better hope is designed to avoid being
set off by accident.
