Aug. 26: What's on HDTV today

What we're watching and why: I think it was a previous HDTV recommedation, but I'm going to make it again: If you have any interest in "The Shawshank Redemption," check it out tonight in glorious high definition on HDNet Movies. It airs at both 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. For those of you who prefer a little more live action, TNT-HD has a triple NASCAR lineup tonight. You can watch a qualifying race at 6 p.m., a pre-show at 7:30 and the main event, the Busch Series Food City 250, at 8.
