Richard Garriott will soon be honored again for his contributions to the gaming industry. This time, it's a Lifetime Achievement Award to be presented at the 6th Annual Game Developer's Choice Awards on March 22 in San Jose.

A recent inductee into the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences' Hall of Fame, Garriott was the co-founder of Origin Systems and the creator of Ultima--long considered the blueprint of contemporary MMORPGs. He is currently an executive producer at NCsoft, and is working on Tabula Rasa, an MMO set for release in October.
