I don't know what it is about the color purple, but people go nuts over the stuff. Back in vanilla, I didn't so much care about the purple part of things as much as I did what it looked like -- the sparklier, the better. This is before I realized Benediction was essentially the priest "come kill me first!" glowing stick of certain death when it came to PvP. Today we've got some posts from around the blogosphere that have less emphasis on the shiny and more on the useful aspects of gearing up.

• Life in Group 5 has a similar shopping list, only with restoration shaman in mind.

• And completely off topic but worth reading, Achtung Panzercow is wondering why people roll on RP servers when they have absolutely no intention of roleplaying at all?
