Patch 5.0.4 releases on Aug. 28
The pre-expansion patch will be dropping on Tuesday, Aug. 28 for the North American realms and on Wednesday, Aug. 29 for the European realms. This comes at just a little under a month from when Mists will be released on Sept. 25.
The big thing coming with this patch includes the shared mounts, pets, and all the talent changes. New content and other features will come when you unlock your account with MoP and it goes live in September.
