WRUP: Dinosaur hunters

WRUP Dinosaur hunters

Another weekend is upon us and we're all doing our best dinosaur hunter impression. So when we asked the team what they're playing this weekend, we took the time to ask specifically about the patch. In this week's WRUP, we talk about exactly how patch 5.2 is going.

Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) SimCity 4000.

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) I'll be writing this weekend mostly, and helping my dad with the atrium project if needed. And then raiding on Sunday, which leads me to the bonus answer: I absolutely love the Throne of Thunder. Hands down the best raid we've seen in a long, long time, and my guild is only at boss #4 in the thing. I do love exploring the Isle of Thunder and the Isle of Giants too, but man, that raid. That raid.

Chase Hasbrouck (@alarondruid, @alaronmonk) Just call me the Bone Collector. Bonus: Dat Saurok jump.

Dan Desmond (@Antigen_) Finishing up Tomb Raider, though I suspect I'll be jumping back in to find more relics and hidden doodads.

The best part about the new patch is the snafoo preventing me from logging in on my main without changing its name. I love that new feature.

Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb) This weekend I'll probably play ME3 MP. I may even play some of my Infiltrator or Engineer Shepard just because the Citadel DLC has rekindled my love of the single player game. I may also do some Dinosaur hunting or Archaeology for the new Mantid rares.

Patch 5.2 is okay so far, but I'll be honest, I've been more interested in playing the new Mass Effect 3 Citadel DLC. I mean, I still can't forgive Bioware for that horrible ending, but... The Citadel DLC is still amazing and everything I could have ever wanted from a DLC and it is just so nice to be excited about Mass Effect again.

Dawn Moore (@dawnwow) Friday is monthly board game night. With the crowd that has RSVP'd, I'm expecting Settlers of Catan, Bananagrams, and Taboo. Torchlight II could be a possibility for the weekend. If I play WoW this weekend, it will probably just be PvP or dailies. I'm unhappy with my current raid team and I think it may be time to start feeling out better options. Not sure what I'll do yet for sure. I was just starting to make a few good friends here.

Bonus: Thunder Isle a little gray and drab for me, but overall it's nice to have new content to toy with (though I still have a fair bit left from 5.0 and 5.1 to finish). I like the changes to priests and am looking forward to playing discipline in raid more.

Elizabeth Harper (@faience) I've been so swamped lately with "real life" that I've been neglecting my poor monk. Maybe this weekend I'll head out to Northrend!

Elizabeth Wachowski (@leeatwaterlives) If work allows, I'd like to play some Oblivion. I haven't done too much in 5.2 yet, but I enjoy the daily rep farm quests. It's a good way for lazy people to get rep.

Joe Perez (@lodurzj) Figuring out how not to fail at the timed treasure run thing, and hunting rare spawns. Also renewed vigor into pet battles because I WANT A RED PANDA!

Bonus: DINOS AND RED PANDAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I am eternally a 5 year old, I'm OK with this.)

Kristin Marshall (@kristin) I'll (hopefully) have some time to relax in-game! After a week of new raid progression stuff, I want to use this weekend to level battle pets and get a bit of alt time in.

Bonus: There's so much to do! Where do I go first? New dailies! Rares! Shinies! So far, I'm loving it. Initially, I thought the patch had come too soon, but I'm starting to feel differently.

Lisa Poisso (@lisapoisso) Spring break, AFK, no gaming. Woot! Bonus: Dinosaurs: Fan or no? The issue of our times.

Matt "Matticus" Low (@matticus) Not playing Sim City. I'm quite excited for the Age of Empires 2 HD remake on Steam though. Otherwise, this will be a light weekend for me. Got through the first 3 bosses in Throne of Thunder so far and I think we can get Tortos on Monday. In League of Legends, I've suffered losses that have dropped me down to 2 League Points in the Bronze 1 category. Clearly I need to carry harder.

Loving the new raid. Not a fan of the trash though. Seems quite gruul-ing and punishing in some areas.

Matthew Rossi (@MatthewWRossi) I'm probably going to finish up a renegade vanguard Shepard run so I can run through ME3: Citadel with her. And there will be raiding Sunday. So I'll be doing that.

Best part of the new patch so far is the new dungeon and scenarios for rep feature. One a day, sure, but it's still nice.

Matt Walsh (@Rhidach) Be playing Skyward Sword some more, plus 5.2 stuff, of course.

Bonus: Really loving the Isle of Thunder so far, though there's so much to do!

Michael Gray (@writegray) I spending the whole weekend playing with my daughter. She's always loved to dance.

Olivia Grace (@oliviadgrace) I'm plotting a continuation of the aggressive paladin gearing. I'm rather holding off on the new island until the unlocking has been done to the point where I can pick up the PvP Dailies, it doesn't hold much charm for me right now. And my copy of sim city arrives on Friday, so let's see how that goes!

Bonus: um, see above I guess! I'm a little meh about it so far, but the fun bit hasn't really started for me. I should go hunt down some rares I guess. That's usually fun. I hate how they stop arenas and rbgs for a week like this. Imagine if they stopped a PvE equivalent!

Robin Torres (@cosmiclaurel) In game: Pet battles and Thunder Isle. Out of game: Zombies, Run 5K training. https://www.zombiesrungame.com/ There is no Robin, only Runner 5. Bonus: Other than a few bugs and some weird lag issues, I love patch 5.2.

Sarah Pine I'll be hanging out in WoW, working on reputation grinds and leveling my dwarf rogue (she's one of the rares!). I also might venture back onto my poor, neglected Horde toons and see if I can't remember how to tank on a paladin.

The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favorite way to play World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're playing this weekend!
