I'm quite partial to MMOs with stylized art, even if they're aging a bit. Reader Andrew agrees; he sent us in the following beauty: "There's a lot of things that Runes of Magic
does right, and one of them is the gorgeous dungeons. This is a shot from the level 55 instance Hall of the Demon Lord, proving that it always pays to look up when questing."
You know what? That's so true. There's often terrific design and art on the ceilings, but so rarely do we ever look up in our travels. The Secret World
has its fair share of otherworldly settings too, although I think this about takes the cake.
"This was a nice little surprise after finishing up the Black Sun, Red Sand storyline quests in on my character Valeyra," reader Gage writes. "I'm not very good at coming up with captions and such, but this beauty excited me so much I decided to submit it. I don't even care if you guys use it or not. This just needs to be seen."
I concur, Gage.
While the Fifth Column may return, I'm pretty sure that City of Heroes
will not. Even so, it's great to see fans sending in their favorite memories of the game in picturized form. Reader Ben says that what we see here are "the evil villains plotting their return near the end of a fun task force in Ouroboros."
Insert "I hate NCsoft
" caption here, if you will.
It's such a good feeling to know you're alive. It's such a happy feeling; you're growing inside. And when you wake up ready to say, "I think I'll make a snappy new day." It's such a good feeling, a very good feeling -- the feeling you know that we're friends.Want to be featured in a future edition of One Shots?
