Black Friday shopping guide for deals on Apple hardware and accessories

The holiday shopping season kicks off this week with select stores rolling back prices before the big shopping extravaganza known as Black Friday. To help you get the most for your money, we have scoured the websites of the major retailers in the US and have listed the sales they have planned on Apple hardware and Apple-branded accessories. Stay tuned for additional discount guides for software and third-party accessories for the iPad, iPhone and Mac.

Apple

Apple opens it retail stores on Friday, November 29 for its annual Black Friday sale. You also can shop online after midnight PST. Sale prices have not been announced, but last year the company discounted its iPad models by $41, its MacBooks by $100 and a handful of other accessories and hardware by $20 or less.

Best Buy

Best Buy opens it doors at 6 PM on Thanksgiving day (Thursday, November 28). Stores with lines will start handing out tickets up to two hours before the store opens.

Staples

Staples is offering its discounts on Apple hardware starting now through staples.com. The sale lasts until Saturday, Nov. 30. These discounts are not available at Staple's retail stores.

All iPad Air WiFi models: $50 off, dropping the price of the base 16 GB iPad Air WiFi model to $449
All AT&T and Verizon Wireless iPad Air models: $50 off, dropping the price of the base 16 GB iPad Air WiFi+Cellular model to $579
All first generation iPad Mini models: $80 off, dropping the price of the base 16 GB model to $249.
All iPad 2 models: $100 off dropping the price of the base 16 GB model to $299.

Target

Target opens at 8 PM on Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 28). These sale prices last while supplies last or until Saturday, November 30. Customers who make a Black Friday purchase worth more than $75 will receive a coupon for 20 percent off the final price of a future shopping trip.

Walmart

Walmart opens at 6 PM on Thanksgiving (Thursday, November 28) with two sales events -- one that begins at 6 PM to midnight and another starting at 8 PM to midnight. Wrist bands will be given out in advance for select items. Online sales start on Thanksgiving morning.
