WRUP: Looking forward to WoW's 10th anniversary

This week, everyone's been talking about WoW's upcoming 10th anniversary celebrations, with an updated take on Molten Core (with a corehound mount reward) and a Southshore/Tarren Mill battleground so you can relive the good old days of vanilla WoW. But with the timing of the expansion and the duration of the event (which lasts from November 21st to January 6th), some of us are worried about hitting level 100 over the holiday season with time to enjoy these updated classics.

So who's looking forward to heading back to Molten Core? Let's see what the WoW Insider team has to say.

Adam Holisky (@AdamHolisky) This weekend I'll be working and playing the beta as much as I can, which I suspect will be from the hours of 10pm until 2am with a fine glass of brandy. I'm stupidly excited to run Molten Core again. Going to have way too much fun with that.

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) I'm doing absolutely nothing but writing and beta testing this weekend, nothing really in the works at the moment other than that, and possibly helping my dad get things ready for next week - we are apparently having some people come uh, put a new roof on our house. This should be entertaining, provided nobody falls off. Bonus question: I cannot wait to get my hands on that Corehound mount and the other goodies. But I think honestly I'm most looking forward to Tarren Mill vs. Southshore. I spent a ridiculous amount of time out there in vanilla, and I'm kind of looking forward to seeing the old stomping grounds again!

Dawn Moore (@dawnwow) Unfortunately I won't have any time to game this weekend (two all-day engagements) but I played beta a bunch earlier this week. I've also been playing this mobile rhythm game called Hipstafox at every free moment trying to unlock the beret. Bonus: My guild does optional LFR each week, so I'll probably attend one week just to see it once. Done any other way, I think a 40-man LFR sounds too painful. I'm not sure if I'll take part in the PvP stuff, though if it's required for a Feat of Strength I likely will. WoW PvP just isn't the same for me since my PvP friends all quit playing.

Elizabeth Harper (@faience) No WoW for me this weekend since I'm heading out of town for a long birthday weekend at Disneyland, because I'm an adult and I can decide to do these things.

Matthew Rossi (@MatthewWRossi) I'm playing the "I'm catching up" writing project game (Deadline Friday, wish me luck) and then hoping to get some Beta in to actually PLAY instead of just testing. Testing specific stuff is good, but sitting down and playing it like an actual player can help test out the game in different ways. Want to run some dungeons. I don't care about the mount at all. Not even a little bit. But I'll probably get my DK to 100 to get him some MC lookalike gear and the hat.

Sarah Pine (@ilaniel) My husband and I are helping a friend move and going to see the PUNKIN CHUNKIN this weekend so I doubt I'll be around much to play anything. But if I do have a moment, I'll be working on my mage--she hit 90 this week! The first time ever in my history playing WoW that I've ever had two max level characters. Go me. (I think.) Anyway, weather's supposed to be beautiful so I'd rather be outside. I do plan on trying for the mount when the anniversary events come out, but we'll see if it actually happens!

The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favorite way to play

World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're playing this weekend!
