The Queue: Gold, mountains of it

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) is answering all kinds of questions today.

I still think it's weird that David Ogden Stiers essentially sings a duet with himself here. But besides the weirdness of one man playing both villain and sidekick, this video is pretty relevant today. Let's jump into the questions, shall we?

Darkwraith asked:

Q4tQ: with the deploy of 6.0, does anyone know if our Valor will simply be scrapped away or it will be converted to Lesser Charms of Good Fortune?

Gold. Mountains of it. (What did I tell you? Relevant.)

Well, maybe not mountains. But you're still getting gold.

robertjamesftw asked:

Q4tQ: I know Rossi tweeted this question to Dave Kosak, but I didn't see an answer: Who is the voice actor for Maraad in the Lords of War series?

That would be Crispin Freeman. He's also done the voice work for Thalen Songweaver and Commander Lindon.

Puntable1 asked:

Are there World Bosses on Draenor? I have not heard anything about them.

There are three of them to begin with! Drov the Ruiner and Tarlna the Ageless are both found in Gorgrond. Rukhmar flies around the Spires of Arak -- she flies low enough that you can pull her and kill her, though. Those are the only ones at the moment, but they can always add more in later patches like they did with Mists.

zadji asked:

Q4tQ: Does anyone ever use any of the focusing lenses (ex - http://www.wowhead.com/item=42420) that jewelcrafters can make?

My old raid leader used to use those a lot for positioning. If he needed people to stand in a line, he'd have one of us stand at one end, he'd stand all the way at the other, and then he'd shoot the laser so people could visually see exactly where the line was supposed to be at. Made it a heck of a lot faster than just waiting for people to figure out the concept of a straight line and how to form one.

cgilm2526 asked:

With the neutral AH's going away and both factions using the same auction house, do you see the ability to mail items between toons on the same server happening in the near future? It seems outdated that I cant mail wool cloth from my Alliance toon to my Horde toon on the same server. Also, when can my toons share gold from the same pool of gold. Seems like another outdated mechanic.

I don't really see them doing that in Warlords, but who knows -- I have a feeling before they open up anything else like that, they'll want to see how the same auction house for both factions thing is working. Personally, I'd love to be able to mail everything between my server alts. At this point, it would mean making everything in game some version of account-bound that isn't quite account-bound but server-bound and frankly it sounds like a vague technical nightmare to me. I imagine if they see a good reasoning for doing it, they'll put it in. As far as the gold goes ... I don't think we're ever going to see that happen. Even in new MMO's, currency is something that's split between your characters.

Alibarem asked:

How hard is it going to be to 'duo' through WoD quests? Ever since getting my brother into WoW, we've been having a blast. Anyways, I just got into Beta and while it looks fun, the phasing and the garrison stuff makes me think that we won't be able to quest together. If we're in the same party, won't it take him to my garrison?

Actually, you can switch between who's garrison you're in while you're in a group -- you can just select from a dropdown to pick whether you want to go to your garrison or his. But as far as questing goes, I don't want to say it's an individualized experience, but it is, to a degree. Outposts give you quests based on what building you've chosen to place there, so unless you guys are picking the same buildings, you may have different quests in your quest log. Profession buildings also give different quests depending on what profession you have -- most of the garrison quests are pretty personalized.

However, there's no reason why the two of you can't explore while you're doing quests, even if you don't both have the exact same quests in your log. Between all the vignettes all over the place, the rares, and the treasures just lying around there is more than enough to keep one of you entertained while the other is doing quests in a particular area.

Chrth asked:

Q4TQ: What if everything that has happened in Warcraft since the Shattering is actually our toons under the effects of Vanessa Van Cleef's poison?

If my character suddenly wakes up tomorrow only to find Fandral Staghelm just casually taking a shower like he never died, I am blaming you.
