The Queue: Mine, traits, i5, and traffic

This Queue is written by Adam (also known as not Alex), who recently discovered that he's mildly obsessed with Mahler's Second Symphony.

Happy Tuesday restarts, Queue! Let's jump into the questions today.

Domehammer asked:

Anyone experienced a goren invasion? Not the actual invasion but your mine suddenly is swarmed by 20-30 goren slaughtering miners. Isolated pockets without guards patrolling were left empty with corpses of miners.

I've seen it, I've killed them, and that was that. It wasn't anything special beyond clearing them out. Not really sure what the point is, to be honest.

Twowolves asked:

Will rerolling follower traits remove a Bodyguard status?

Despite the "Bodyguard" status being determined by a trait, and traits specifically being able to be rerolled, all indications are that the trait is locked and will not change upon rerolling.

I'd pay attention to this, however, as it's something that's ripe for change in a future patch.

Dpdiedal asked:

I want to buy me a new processor so can you guys tell me if a i5 4590 would be enough to play wod on ultra

Your processor should be fine -- but your video card will need to be good to run the game in ultra. More importantly than even just being able to run it in max mode is when you want to run it in ultra. If you're going to do so in raids, then you're going to need an i7 with a very good graphics card(s). If you're just going to be standing around your garrison, you don't need a ton.

WoW is deceptive like that. It's easy on the processor and graphics card when you're not doing anything, but when you have 30+ spells and actions flying around with dozens upon dozens of effects each, things get a little intense.

Nativebrown asked:

do you find that your website traffic has any correlation to WoWs subscription ups and downs? My guess is no. My sub lapses here and there but I still like keeping up with WoW Insider. Just curious though about your site as a relative barometer for the health of the game.

Yes, there is a correlation, although it's much more smoothed out than WoW's population. We have a sizable number of people here that are using us to keep tabs on the game and use that information to come back into it or not. But when the game gets quite popular again, as it is now, there is a noticeable traffic surge.
