The Big Picture: A Dragon heads to the International Space Station
The last time SpaceX's Dragon visited the International Space Station, they brought along some nifty presents that included the first zero-g 3D printer. SpaceX captured this photo of Dragon lifting off from Cape Canaveral in September on its fourth commercial resupply mission to the orbital outpost. The company is planning another launch on Friday. What does Elon Musk have up his sleeve this time? They'll attempt to land a Falcon 9 rocket booster on an "autonomous spaceport drone ship" (i.e., a barge). Will this crazy idea work? Musk estimates a 50–50 chance of success. Tune in on Friday to find out how it goes. [Image credit: SpaceX]
Sound Off! How do you get kids interested in science and technology?
Many tech companies, including yours truly here at AOL, have been hosting Hour of Code events this week as part of Computer Science Education Week. It's part of a wider initiative to get more kids interested in traditional STEM related subjects. Outside of school and annual events such as this, what sorts of things are you doing to get your own kids more interested in science, technology, engineering or math? Is it something that's important to you? Head over to the Engadget forums and let us know. [Photo credit: John Leyba/The Denver Post via Getty Images]

Sound Off! Do ridesharing privacy issues make you nervous?
Uber is not having a good week. Between surreptitiously tracking journalists' trips inside 'God View' and an executive implying the company should dig up dirt on reporters critical of the service, the company has been on a pretty bumpy road. However, they're still one of the most popular ride sharing services. Does the company's seemingly callous disregard for customer privacy change whether you still use its app? Head over to the Engadget forums and share your thoughts on ridesharing. [Image credit: Victor J. Blue/Bloomberg via Getty Images]

Sound Off! Has NFC finally hit the mainstream?
You can find NFC technology in many of the gadgets released in the last few years, but it seems like it never gained much traction in our common lexicon. Sure, there's Google Wallet and using it to easily pair with things (like your camera), but you didn't really see people using it everyday. With Apple Pay recently arriving in consumers' hands, more people are starting to becoming aware of this technology. Did you just start using it or have you been an early adopter all along? What are some cool things that you've done with it? Share your stories and impressions over in the Engadget forums.

Sound off with your fellow Engadget readers in our forums.

Stop by the Engadget forums to let us know if you'd be willing to pay for access to HBO's catalog -- how much.

Sound off! Is the end of the portable MP3 player nigh?
It's no secret the number of iPods that Apple has sold has significantly decreased over the last few years. As our smartphones have become more powerful and the types of tasks they're capable of have grown, there's been less of a need for having a device dedicated to only one type of activity. Is a dedicated portable MP3 player past its prime or does this type of device still have some life left? Visit the Engadget forums and let us know if you think the MP3 player can be saved.
