Engadget Review

Like the last few upgrades, Mavericks doesn't do anything particularly bold, but a slew of new features (and zero cost to download) make the upgrade worth it.

This horrible OS X was installed against my will. I knew how bad it was from another device I had so I kept on refusing the update. Suddenly, yesterday my iMac went off and it started installing. Now the speed of everything is back to the problems I had with dial-up in the 1990s! My emails hardly load- nothing works.i hate OS X Yosemite! But it seems impossible to get rid of it

A forgettable product. It isn't bad, exactly, but also doesn't do anything particularly well. - Engadget

Its still very buggy and glitchy especially for older macs that do not have a solid state drive , even when they can run the operating system. There is a clear difference from running an operating system than it being a functional operating system. Continuous crashing of applications, reduced multitasking, as it hogs memory, and never frees it up after using an application. Art programs work for an hour or two before failing.. and In order to work using a new program , you would have to reboot the computer to refresh its RAM. I have 8 GB RAM , the operating system failed to utilize it correctly. Video and recording , DVD playback , video editing and sound-play after loading different apps begins to stall and stutter. I had to downgrade to Mountain Lion, in fear of damaging my physical hardware of the Mac, because of the continuous reboots and forced resets.
