I bought this computer for university, as a compromise between the portability of the 13.3' and the value of the 15.6'. I got pretty good specs for the money: Core i5 460M 4 GB of RAM 500 GB HDD @ 7200 RPM Mobility Radeon HD 6370 with 512 MB of VRAM 3 year warranty My initial feel was that I got a good deal and I was & still am, very happy with the computer's performance and speed. I run some new games (portal 2, not on the highest settings) on it with ease. After using the computer for while the problems started to build up: 1. I noticed that when I used the Radeon graphics and not the Intel on-board card, I could sea white dots flickering around the screen. especially on dark images, and when I tried to fix it, the HP technical support where pretty clueless, despite the fact that I gave them a clear description of the problem. they tried to give me incompatible drivers and gave me no good answer. 2. I notices a light bleed on the right bottom corner of the screen, which is pretty annoying, considering I have not dropped it at any stage in a way that would cause such a bleed. 3. After a month and a half of owning it, the plastic around the keyboard distorted on the right side, as a result of the cooling mechanism's heat. After sending the computer for repair, I got it back in the same condition, only with out my data on it. I don't recommend this computer if you can get something with similar performance, even for slightly more money, because the build quality ruins what would otherwise be a great computer.

I've read complaints about a trackpad, on the engadget review for ex, but my version had a regular touchpad with real buttons. Quite high resolution touch surface, not as smooth as I'd like it to be but still reasonable.
