Feedback submitted!Unable to submit feedback! I had an SMS before I had an NES, mainly cause it was cheaper. The system is ugly - one huge block - and the controllers tended to be a bit uncomfortable. I did like the jet black color though. This is all in retrospect though - I didn't care when i was 8.It wasn't covered in Gamepro as much as NES, but I was still able to get a grasp on some of the good games. The first time I ever saw parallax scrolling was while playing Choplifter on the SMS. Safari Hunt is superior to Duck Hunt. I had a lot more fun with it - more animals to shoot (wow that sounds creepy), and the most annoying / hypnotizing intro music ever in a game.In general, the graphics seemed to have a bit more shine. Many SMS games were better than their NES counterparts - Shinobi, Double Dragon, California Games and Rampage come to mind. Also, I was a big fan of the Sega arcade games such as Afterburner, Hang On, Space harrier, and Out Run, so it was great to have 8 bit versions of these to play at home. Hell, I even had the SMS version of Altered Beast. One other aspect of the SMS that impressed me was the quality of its sports titles. They were a lot more serious than Nintendo's early options. Great Baseball in particular was a nice baseball experience, and even had voice clips for Strike, Foul, and Out.All in all, a great system with tons of great memories.
