The demo for Dirt Showdown will be alive and kicking up dust on Steam, Xbox Live Marketplace and PSN today, Codemasters has announced. The demo includes the single-player mode's 8 Ball race, which runs by San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge, and the multiplayer Rampage mode. Rampage is an eight-player demolition derby where points are earned for crashes and take-outs.The Dirt Showdown demo also offers the first taste of RaceNet, a free online tracking and comparison extension for Codemasters racing games. Those who sign up for RaceNet get some special perks when the full game launches on May 25, including $20,000 of in-game currency. Yes, 20 big ones. Either that's an awesome bonus, or Dirt Showdown operates in a universe where everyone is a millionaire.

Remember when TIFF games were all the rage? They were simple games that just needed to be placed in the PSP's PHOTO folder in order to work. One of the great things about TIFF homebrew was that almost anyone could use it, without any complicated ELOADERs and what-not. Another plus? It worked on homebrew with firmware as high as 2.80.Milad, from the Playstation forums, has created a huge list of TIFF programs that may catch your fancy. Here's a small sampling of what's available: Magic 8-Ball Calculator TNT Dude (homebrew game) Unstuck (stuck pixel remover) FileAssistant (awesome PSP file management utility)

The Zune is coming, the Zune is coming! We all know that Microsoft has announced (but not shown off a working model) their iPod competitor (I noticed that most articles about the Zune aren't calling it an iPod killer, so I won't either) that will have WiFi, a social component, and quite possibly double as a cheese grater. What's a Mac pundit to do? Why, pull out your Magic 8 Ball and start answering some questions about Zune, at least that's what John 'My Fireball is more Daring than yours' Gruber did today. Head on over for an entertaining and informative read. You'll be glad you did.
