As the viewing habits of its customers change, Sky has overhauled its programme guide and planner to better serve shows that people want to watch. The company's new box, Sky Q, built on that by introducing Top Picks, a human-curated catalogue of programmes and movies that are too hot to miss. Now it's rolling out to more customers as part of a new Sky+ update that makes it even easier to go on a binge-watching spree.

Netflix has finally updated its Apple TV app to bring the "Up Next" feature to your home. "Up Next" allows users to automatically select the next episode of a TV series without having to go back through navigation menus. The feature has been available on every other Netflix platform -- which seemingly even includes toasters at this point -- but is just now making its way to Apple TV. The update also brings the "Up Next" autoplay feature to Apple TV, which automatically plays the next episode in a series after a few seconds of asking if you want to watch. Autoplay, unlike the Up Next preview, needs to be manually turned on in the menu via the Play Next Episode feature. After Netflix feels like you've been watching too long it will automatically ask you, "Are you still watching Cheers?" or whatever show you've been bingeing on. Before this update, Apple TV users had to go back to the main menu of the series they were watching, manually select the next episode, and press play. No longer will you be forced to endure several erroneous button clicks. This is a good day for Apple TV owners who have a cold or crippling depression.

The BBC isn't due to transition BBC Three to an online-only channel until late next year, but that isn't stopping it from testing the waters first. The Beeb confirmed today that for the first time, it will make a complete series available on BBC iPlayer before airing it on TV, allowing you to indulge in a Netflix-style binge (should you so wish). All six episodes of Chris Lilley's Jonah From Tonga, a new show from the Australian comedian behind Angry Boys and Summer Heights High, will go live on iPlayer from May 2nd for 48 hours. It'll then be broadcast on BBC Three from May 8th. While critics believe the BBC's decision to take the popular TV channel online will be "bad for comedy", it'll ultimately be up to the public to decide whether it was right to do so.
