We didn't know Liberty City could get any more dangerous until we saw what YouTube user "dot12321" had done with the place. By adjusting the wheel friction on GTA IV's vehicles to a negative value, dot12321 spawned some truly killer cars. See the complete and utter chaos after the break.

Usually, we balk at fan-made creations that take innocent, classic game characters and put them in mature scenarios. That's not the case with this GTA IV machinima, The Brothers Mario -- not because it's especially hilarious, mind you, but because it's actually, unbelievably badass.

A Brazilian court has apparently ordered that worldwide sales of Grand Theft Auto IV: Episodes From Liberty City cease because a song in the game was used without consent. The Associated Press reports that the Third Civil Court in Barueri will fine Rockstar Games and Brazilian distributor Synergex $3,000 per day if the order isn't obeyed. The order was apparently issued on September 27 and can be appealed. The song that Rockstar allegedly did not get the rights to is called "Bota o Dedinho pro Alto." Brazilian distributor Synergex claims it had not been notified of the court's decision. You can check out the song after the break. [Thanks, Bill O.]

Uniting the trinity of Liberty City's anti-heros in one bundle, Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete should be out by the end of October, according to a couple of major retailers. As picked up by Gamespot, both Amazon and GameStop have the $40 game listed for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 with an October 26 release date. The "complete edition" includes the original Grand Theft Auto IV, motorcycle gang add-on The Lost and Damned and the "never own a night club" fable The Ballad of Gay Tony, all in one box. It seems like a great way to catch up before Rockstar announces the next GTA.

  • Rockstar wins 'substantial' damages for GTA Rothbury story

UK tabloid The Daily Star will pay "substantial damages" to Grand Theft Auto creator Rockstar Games over a false story claiming the publisher was working on Grand Theft Auto: Rothbury. Rockstar sued the newspaper after it made the claim in July that the company was working on a game based upon the events of a manhunt in north east England. The false newspaper story was also accompanied by what was implied to be the cover of the game. A lawyer for the newspaper acknowledged that the claims against Rockstar were untrue and apologized for the "upset and damaged caused."

  • Heavy Rain in Liberty City: a GTA IV Machinima

If you've played through Heavy Rain, you know that most problems can't be solved by shooting a dude in the face. For GTA IV's Niko Bellic, that's very much a real problem solver -- a tactic he has no problem using. So it's a pretty odd juxtaposition to see the two games spliced together like they are in the video past the break. It's a pretty great video, but we feel we should warn you that you probably won't get it if you've never played Heavy Rain. Unless you're watching this part, which we're pretty sure is funny no matter what game(s) you've played. [Via Kotaku]

If you've been waiting for an excuse to sink your felonious teeth into the Grand Theft Auto IV expansion The Ballad of Gay Tony, listen up. This week's Xbox Live Deal of the Week, you see, knocks the usual 1600 ($20) price of Gay Tony down to a more palatable 1200 ($15). Not bad for a night of virtual clubbing in Liberty City. That said, if you haven't picked up The Lost and Damned (the other GTA IV expansion) either, you can grab the full Episodes from Liberty City package for $30 from GameStop or Amazon. Haven't picked up Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City? For about the same price as the retail console version of the GTA IV expansion packs, you can get every nearly single Rockstar game in one massive, discounted bundle. The "Rockstar Collection" includes 13 titles, including Bully: Scholarship Edition, Manhunt, Max Payne, Midnight Club 2, and every Grand Theft Auto for PC -- including The Lost and the Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony. This week, the bundle will be discounted to a mere $42.49, a considerable savings over the suggested $169.90 value for all the games combined. Considering the bundle includes rather new content, one can even consider this package ... a steal. [Via BigDownload]

  • GTA: Episodes From Liberty City for PC, PS3 delayed two weeks due to 'minor content changes'

If you've waited this long for Episodes from Liberty City, another two weeks shouldn't hurt, right? Rockstar Games has pushed back the PS3 and PC releases of the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto IV expansions by two weeks due to "a request by Sony Europe to make some minor content changes to the PAL PS3 version of the game." According to the press release, "the minor changes made to the game will not affect the gamers enjoyment of the games, these will not affect any gameplay elements and were not related to any local ratings requirements." All versions of the add-ons -- including the downloadable episodes "The Lost & Damned" and "The Ballad of Gay Tony" -- have been delayed to April 13th for North America, and April 16th for all other countries. A Rockstar Games blog post further elaborated on the decision to do a global delay, ensuring that "everyone can experience multiplayer simultaneously, take part in online events together, be on level ground on leaderboards, etc."

The Ballad of Gay Tony's Luis Lopez seems to have a pretty easy life. The main playable character of the Xbox-only GTA IV episode must simply deal with Liberty City's wealthiest clientele, ensuring their experience at Tony Prince's two nightclubs goes without a hitch. According to Rockstar PR, jobs will involve kicking out drug dealers, dealing with the paparazzi, and getting the appropriate pick-me-ups for the stars.Maisonette 9 and Hercules are two new locations added to the Gay Tony episode. In addition to work, you'll be able to partake in a variety of sidequests and minigames: a "familiar-feeling dance minigame," and a new game that takes place in the club bathroom with a girl. We're not entirely sure what that will entail ... but thinking about the franchise's legacy, we think you can figure it out.

Crime epic Grand Theft Auto IV has arrived (as promised) on the Xbox Marketplace's Games on Demand lineup. The grand theft mega-hit costs $30 to download, which is the same price as a fresh new retail version -- a tiny bit more in some cases. We should probably note that a used copy from GameStop is about $25. By all means, if you have no way of getting to a retailer please feel free to buy the game online. Oh, wait, that was a missed opportunity for a "steal a car" joke, wasn't it?

Rockstar Leeds and Rockstar North, together with LittleBigPlanet dev Media Molecule have netted an impressive eleven nominations for the 2009 Develop Industry Excellence Awards, the UK's annual prize patrol for all things excellent in the industry. The Rockstar houses pocketed six of their own for work on GTA: Chinatown Wars and GTA IV: The Lost and the Damned, including nods for visual arts, technical innovation and audio. Rockstar Leeds is also up for the award for best handheld game studio, while both are in the running for being recognized as the best in-house team. Media Molecule is up for five awards as well, including best indie studio and best new IP. The Guildford studio is also up for the technical innovation award, where it's not only up against the Rockstar folks, but the teams behind Killzone 2, PlayStation Home, Football Manager Live and Fable II. We wish all nominees the best of luck and remind them not to forget to thanks their moms should they take the stage and accept an award during the July 15 ceremony.

Dust off those copies of Grand Theft Auto IV and get ready to join the Brotherhood. A brand new trailer for the upcoming Xbox 360-exclusive DLC, The Lost & Damned, has jumped online and features a few familiar faces. Notable cameos include drug runner Elizabeta Torres and GTA IV's main protagonist, Niko Bellic.Based on the appearance of Torres and her dialog, The Lost & Damned will bring players back to the mission Blow Your Cover, from GTA IV. In the mission, Niko follows Playboy X and Johnny Klebitz (the protagonist in Lost & The Damned) to a heroin deal that eventually goes horribly wrong. Other moments from The Lost & Damned are said to weave into the original GTA IV story, where Johnny Klebitz was a supporting character during a pair of key missions.GTA IV: The Lost & Damned will release on February 17, for 1600 ($19.99 US). The full trailer can be found after the break.

If you can stand to wait a few days before partaking in the cycling adventures of The Lost & Damned (stupid shipping delays), then Amazon.com might have an offer for you. They're enticing all GTAIV enthusiasts with a free three-month Xbox Live card with purchase of Lost & Damned.Your other option would be to snag the DLC from the Xbox Live Marketplace on February 17th, the instant it becomes available. For some, having to wait a minute longer to download the expansion in all its 10+ hour, Busta Rhymes music-debuting and Niko-less glory would be unthinkable.[Thanks, Sgt Barone]

Per our conversation with Rockstar Games and information gathered from a recent Associated Press report, we've learned that Grand Theft Auto IV's The Lost & Damned downloadable content will feature new music, television programming (including a new season of Republican Space Rangers!) and radio commercials.Flexmaster Flex, along with a few other artists, will be featured in Lost & Damned. We're also told that Trevor Tamerri Smith, Jr. (aka Busta Rhymes) will exclusively debut his latest track, "Conglomerate" in the DLC. We're sure the Busta news would be more interesting if we still lived in 1996, but just go with it. All-new songs (and presumably new commercials) will be added to five of the in-game radio stations and, as with all GTA IV-featured music, players can "tag" each song for purchase through iTunes. Woo-ha!

Rockstar has released a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto IV's upcoming Lost and Damned DLC, featuring who we're assuming is the lead character, Johnny Klebitz. Sporting black leather, a bald head and a grizzled face, we're guessing he gets mistaken for Left 4 Dead's Francis all the time. It might explain why he's so angry. The trailer shows off all the GTA funnery we've come to expect, including a police chase on an airplane runway. Check it out after the break.

Rockstar has released two new trailers for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto IV "Lost and Damned" DLC, each showcasing one of the episode's new characters. The first, Billy Grey, is the leader of The Lost, Liberty City's notorious biker gang. A walking bad attitude with a leather jacket, let's just say he's not the kind of guy you'd want hanging around your sister. Or anyone close to you. Or yourself, for that matter. Malc, on the other hand, is a tough customer himself and looks to be a member of a different kind of biker gang. Are we sensing a conflict between these two groups?Yes. Yes, we believe we are. Check out both trailers after the break. Gallery: Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned
