Omni Systems brings its latest project to the PlayStation Vita and supported Android platforms this week with the release of Eufloria Adventures, a PlayStation Mobile-exclusive follow-up to its ambient real-time strategy game Eufloria. Eufloria Adventures puts players in control of a single floating Seedling Ship for a series of exploration-based challenges, contrasting the strategic, troop-swarming gameplay of the original Eufloria. Levels are procedurally generated, and players can choose to specialize in Speed, Strength, or Energy attributes as the difficulty ramps up at lower depths. Eufloria Adventures includes both a casual mode focusing on low-key exploration and a roguelike mode for hardcore players. The game is available from the PlayStation Store for $7.99. Omni Systems' space-faring strategy game Eufloria HD is taking root on PS Vita this month. This new port, which doubles its predecessor's frame rate, adds refined touch controls and improves upon the visuals through greater pixel density, will be available in North America on December 17 and in Europe on December 18. Eufloria HD focuses on a group of interstellar lifeforms called Euflorians. Their goal is to colonize asteroids, grow and expand, with players assuming the role of a commander who must guide and nurture the Euflorians' development in real-time. In our review, we particularly enjoyed "the dreamy, ambient score" but cautioned that the game can be a bit overwhelming to real-time strategy newcomers. No price for Eufloria HD has been announced, though the original PS3 release was priced at $9.99.

Eufloria Adventures, a new game in the Eufloria universe from Omni Systems, is being prepped for launch on PlayStation Mobile, or as we like to call it, Vita.Eufloria Adventures will feature new gameplay mechanics with a focus on exploration and customization. Players control a seedling ship as it rounds up artifacts for study, highlighting the game's conflict-strategy approach, Gamasutra writes.Eufloria (pictured above) has sold 250,000 copies on PSN, and Omni's Rudolf Kremers says the team enjoys working with Sony. "I think PS [Mobile] is a really smart and likeable move by Sony," he says. "Personally I find the Vita a stupendous handheld gaming device and to open it up to indie devs is exactly what it needs to set itself apart. Original indie games with a strong personal identity on a fantastic piece of kit? Seems to me the right approach."

You may have played indie gem Eufloria since its release on PSN, but you may only recognize it by it's common name, "That Calming Game That Makes Me Feel Funny For Some Reason." Now you'll be able to play TCGTMMFFFSR on iPad, with the release of Eufloria HD in February.Eufloria HD offers an innovative approach to the strategy genre, layering RTS action with a soothing, nurturing interface that resembles something that happens on a cellular level, usually in a bedroom, a sterile doctor's office or the back seat of a 1987 Buick Electra. The iPad version will include the updates in the PSN release, along with a few touchpad-specific features -- if you know what we mean.

Eufloria, a floral asteroid ambient strategy game, is set to release October 4 on PSN for $9.99. If you find this description of the game is confusing, watch the following trailer. If you think the following trailer makes Eufloria look like an artificial-insemination strategy game, you'd be right.

Omni Systems' beautiful indie game Eufloria, once known as Dyson, will be released on the PlayStation Network (presumably for PS3) sometime in 2011. Eufloria is a strategy game of sorts, in which players grow "semi-organic" trees on asteroids, and then set those trees against AI opponents, all presented in a minimal visual style that the game's website calls "reminiscent of children's books like The Little Prince." The PSN release will benefit from updated visuals, unspecified new mechanics and other new material. New tracks from original composer Brian Grainger will also be added to the game. "Considering the various improvements," Omni Systems says in the press release, "it may be more accurate to describe the PSN release as 'Eufloria++'." If you'd like to get an idea of what the current Eufloria is like, a demo of the PC version is available. [Via GameSetWatch]
