Zombies. Eat. Brains. This is a surprisingly well-made advertisement for Next New Networks. Too bad the actual website seems to be a work-in-progress... I'm assuming it'll offer PSP-formatted video in the future? Maybe we'll find out more soon. This second video shows off a man in yet another love affair with his PSP. Why? Why are these people putting these up on YouTube? Why do I keep on posting them on the site? And why do you still watch them? Strange. Maybe he's just in love with the deluge of demos that came out today. Enjoy the remaining hours of your weekend, folks.

Ever want the whole world in your hands? YouTube user zachetus has turned his PSP into a remote control for the NASA World Wind program. This will become really helpful when satellite data gets strong enough so we can peek into showers. Yes, "helpful" is the word I'd use in a scenario like that...Speaking of creepy, YouTube user EnKeRaDc has a torrid love affair with his PSP. He makes a very disturbing tribute video to his somehow broken handheld. I like my PSP, but this guy took being a fanboy to a whole new, scary, level.

Two very different and random videos tonight: the first video shows Australia's Today Show going absolutely ga-ga about the PSP. They take a look at the Passport guides, and the Talkman translator guide. Their impressions about the software are overwhelming glowing, as if Sony ::cough:: paid for this spot. Strangely, they keep on telling the viewers to just take the systems away from the kids, and use it for themselves. The kids are too busy playing with their DS games to notice you taking the PSP away from them, anyways. Hilarious moment: when they talk about the $1000+ PLAYSTATION 3, because in Australian dollars, it is. Still evokes a very Twilight Zone kind of feeling. The second video shows a very impressive parody of the original dustball ads that Sony ran to promote the PSP. It highlights one of the PSP's less attractive attributes: the dumb loading times. One has to wonder if this stigma will stick with the PSP for much longer: games like Daxter show impressive lack-of-load times that prove great developers can do amazing things with the system.

Warning. You have entered... the amateur film zone!!! These two short films are very different in approach in style, but they're both about the handheld we all love: the PSP. Feel free to put on your wig, and act like Roger Ebert in our comments section.

Ah, commercials for the PSP. America seems to have given up advertising Sony's handheld (while they get their act together), but the European division just keeps on making more and more. Some are sure to be hits, while others are not. Here are two samples from the European waters: what do you think about them? Do they seem too random, or are they super-cool and edgy?

The PSP can be a lot of things. It can take pictures, for example. Sony Japan's newest ad shows off the upcoming PSP camera and all the fun things you can do to harass Japanese businessmen. Awesome~! I hope once the device comes to the States, all members of the press start carrying this peripheral around: photos like these will make the news so much more interesting, because everything's at least 30% funnier when a giant afro is transplanted on top of someone's head! But once you've taken such classy photos, you'll want to show them off... with style. An enthusiastic fan has crafted an elaborate, elegant wooden frame for his PSP. Just drop the PSP in and let it display your photos. It'll look a whole lot cooler than a traditional photo frame, and it'll kill a lot less trees. And we love trees, don't we?

Somehow, an internet video creator used monkeys and fart jokes to create a more tasteful way of discussing the white and black PSP than Sony. The "moral" of the story will certainly piss readers off, but for those of you with YouTube accounts, you can go here to leave hateful comments. Besides, why would he spend so much time working on this video if he didn't genuinely like the PSP (regardless of its color)? But maybe you don't like either the black or white PSP. Maybe you'd prefer a P!nk PSP. The celebrity can be seen prancing around, showing off her PSP once in a while. Will this appeal to the all-important girl demographic? I think not. Now, if Sony made a Justin Timberlake PSP, the girls would go hogwild, 'cuz y'know... he's so dreamy! ::swoon::

It's been a while. It's time for another Video Sandwich. We love looking at PSP ads here, and I would have to say that this "viral" ad is pretty effective. It tells you that you can play your PSP anywhere, any place... but would the PSP function in a low-grav, no-oxygen environment? Something tells me no. MISLEADING AD!!! (Okay, maybe it's just puffery.)Below, you'll see a fan-made parody of one of the earliest PSP ads: you know, the ones where they threw them around, from friend to friend. I was always horrified by that ad, just because I asked: what would you do if you dropped it??? That's $250 down the drain! Well, thankfully, these kids find out so you don't have to.

Hope you didn't just eat. This edition of the Video Sandwich shows you what's really inside your PSP. The above video takes fears of finding bugs in your PC to a very literal level. Watch, be amazed, and then wonder... how did that happen? The bottom video was created by a user setting up "PSP TV," which I assume will allow you to watch/play PSP content on a TV. It's so easy! Clocking in at almost 10 minutes (with tons of looping music), it converts the PSP into a large monstrosity that will never fit in your pants ever again (unless you have parachute pants). If I want to play games and watch movies on my TV, I'll stick with the PlayStation 2, thanks.

This is, like totally the most EXTREME version of the Video Sandwich, dude! In our first video, you see a skateboarder pulling off a trick with his PSP while boarding. You don't ever see Tony Hawk doing that these days. Pretty cool, huh?The bottom video features yet another one of the hilarious "Let Tekken Decide" advertisements. After seeing it, you'll be one of the few on this planet that can confidentally say you've seen an Asian pimp send someone to an alligator pit-of-doom. And that's an accomplishment, right?See also:Don't get mad! Get even with Tekken

There's no better way to end a slow news day (ignoring the new MGS news) than with a hearty video sandwich. In this top video, we see someone fall victim to some shoddy Sony craftsmanship. While that might not be particularly noteworthy, this time around it is: because I think the girl's pretty hot. Why not find out for yourself, and if you feel sympathy for her inability to play Tekken: Dark Resurrection, you should send your PSP to her. I'm sure she'll appreciate it.The bottom video showcases one of the terrifyingly cute parlor games that you'll find in Japan. It takes 200 yen to play, and gives you the chance to win a PSP! OMG! Too bad I have no idea how the hell you "win" this game. Can you figure it out?

  • Vice City Stories Video Sandwich special!

Vice City Stories looks like it'll have some truly epic battles. Sure, you have the army men with their automatic rifles, and the tank... but what really gets me excited is the helicopter. It looks absolutely sweet, and the thought of being able to drive that baby, and use its minigun on the go is kick-ass.But, if that seems a bit too Hollywood for you, maybe you'll want to slow things down Hillbilly style. It looks like you can rough up the trailer trash in the game as well. I'm less impressed by the clip below, but maybe you can re-create scenes from Dukes of Hazzard or something. You can download high-res versions of these videos at GameTrailers.com (include an iPod/PSP formatted version). Vice City Stories will hit the PSP exclusively this October.

Thought I forgot about your beloved Video Sandwich? Of course not! For those of you that are new to the Sandwich, here's an overview: you get two videos as the "bread" and some commentary in the middle as the meat in the middle (or hummus, for you vegans). This time around, we have one awesome music video from the upcoming Lumines II. Entitled "Heavenly Star," the video was co-written by gaming guru Mizuguchi himself! It should put you in the right mood for some Lumines. Read up on the creation of this song and more at 1UP and expect some a lot more coverage of Lumines II soon. The bottom video is what I declare the end of the bickering between DS fanboys and PSP fanboys. You guys have waged a video war for too long. At last, we have a real winner in this console war, and it's not what you might expect...

Hate seeing gas prices keep on going up? You can blame George W. Bush, but the secret's finally out. This hard-hitting edition of Video Sandwich reveals that every single problem in the US of A is caused by monkeys. Yes. Monkeys. These are no ordinary monkeys, though. They are college educated bionic monkeys that are trying to destroy the world. I have complete faith in our president to stop this evil menace: I mean, imagine how much he's learned due to Brain Age.The heart-stopping news doesn't stop yet, folks. PSP Fanboy revealed recently that PSPs may be used as weapons by terrorists. Well, it looks like I've uncovered one of these terrorists' videos. It shows a scrawny white guy dancing to the music of Loco Roco and is obviously used as a torture device. His awful outfit, and even worse moves, clearly go against all Geneva Convention laws.

Are you getting hungry? Because I am. Yep... it's that time again. It's time for another Video Sandwich. For those of you not in the know, you get two videos as the "bread" of this sandwich. These videos don't usually feature gameplay, but showcase some of the weirder or crazier things in the PSP fan community. Like our first video, in which a magician uses the PSP in a magic trick. Just watch, and be amazed by the awesomeness. How does he do it? Well, a magician never tells his secrets...The second video is yet ANOTHER one of those "let's blow up a PSP" videos. Why do these kids have so much money to waste? Well, this one's a bit different and a bit cooler, if only because it involves explosives and long-range rifles. Interested? Of course you are. Until next time...[Thanks, Jordan Keeling for the second video!]

It's been a while since our last Video Sandwich. If you're a newcomer to the Fanboy, here's how it goes: you get two videos that make the tasty bread of this sandwich. Then, in the middle you get the meaty commentary by me. Tonight's sandwich features two PSP ads, neither of which will ever air in America. The top is an ultra-romantic, somewhat cheesy Korean advertisement that focuses on the wide variety of features of the handheld. Using my mad Korean skillz, I can tell you that the commercial tries to portray how their love is like the various features of the PSP. It ends with the guy saying: Whatever you want to do... the PSP can do it. This kind of advertising must work wonders on the same Nintendogs-crazy market that's gone mad for the DS (read: girls). The bottom video is a fan-created commercial that also highlights the various features of the system. It doesn't feature any game or movie footage, but is done in such a sleek way that it trumps all of Sony's official marketing here in the states. Considering how Sony's trying to rebuild the PSP brand as a device that can do games and more, this kind of commercial would work really well. Maybe we'll see something like this on the TV in the future.

The past few stories about Loco Roco have been a bit too depressing. Let's ignore the low sales and remember the good things about the game: like happy happy graphics and even happier music. That's what this fun, candy-coated Loco Roco fan video does. It showcases some images from the game and puts it to the absolutely fantastic music of the game. If this doesn't make you happy, then you've lost your childhood somewhere along the way.The bottom video of this special edition Video Sandwich shows you how to get every single secret in the downloadable demo. Pretty helpful for those of you that want to earn your Loco Roco Rewards the right way. It's intersting to see the things that you may have missed. (I know without this video, I would've never found that final fruit that I've been missing!)

Who doesn't like things falling down dramatically? The correct answer: No one! An enthusiastic PSP fan decided to create a "commercial" for the PSP and after who knows countless hours of labor, this video can now be seen for all of the internet to enjoy. Is it me, or are fans making better commercials than Sony's marketing department? Hmm.Below, you'll see a surprisingly professional video about bricking your PSP. This team of security advisors show you the dangers of downloading and running malicious code on your PSP, and they lose $200 for your entertainment... and safety.

The talented Greykid Pictures just put up a preview for a potential PSP ad that they're working on. It seems just as racially insensitive as every other PSP marketing tactic used by Sony as of late, so I guess it has to be real. It seems to take Peter Dille's message about PSP's multi-use capabilities to heart, by showing off photos, music, games, and surprisingly, a lot of movies. It definitely gets a message across, unlike some other scary Japanese ads.Below, you'll see Lumines shoes. These are one-of-a-kind shoes embedded with so much bling that your eyes may melt off. I guess those kind of shoes keep on making us wonder what kind of drugs Mizuguchi smokes.

Slow news day? You betcha! Today's video theme seems to be PSP abuse. I don't know about you, but I don't like buying a $200 piece of gadgetry and then destroying it for the sake of "entertainment." Didn't a group of Japanese kids do that a while back? Why is this entertaining? Why do people do this? I don't really understand, but at the very least, I have to give props to the people above for using explosives. To the kid below, you're not too cool.
