WayForward developing next TMNT game, Danger of the Ooze
Activision will publish a new game based on the iconic Ninja Turtles brand called Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze, the publisher announced today. The game will slot in between seasons two and three of the current Nickelodeon television show and use 3D artwork inspired by the show. It will launch later this year for Xbox 360, PS3 and 3DS. Danger of the Ooze is a side-scrolling action-adventure game that allows players to freely switch between the four turtles to use their unique skill sets at their convenience. The city of New York and alternate world Dimension X are non-linear, so the game encourages "exploration and creative thinking" from players. The developer behind Danger of the Ooze is WayForward, known for games like Contra 4, BloodRayne: Betrayal, the Shantae series, and A Boy and His Blob (Wii). [Image: Activision]
TMNT movie tie-in mobile game out now, created by Combo Crew dev
Normally we'd ignore a movie tie-in mobile game, except that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was developed by a notable up-and-comer. First spotted by PocketGamer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was created by The Game Bakers, who created the enjoyable Combo Crew and colorful RPG Squids. "The violence feels robust and chunky," PocketGamer says of the $3.99 premium app. The game is based on the movie, which is based on the show, which is based on the comic, which is based on thoughts conceived when someone mixed Fresca, Tab and pepperoni pizza in the 80s. TMNT: Training Lair snapping at Kinect next week
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Training Lair will launch July 22, a source close to the game has informed Joystiq. Achievements for Training Lair along with purported screenshots leaked earlier this week, showing a Kinect-based TMNT spin-off reminiscent of Fruit Ninja Kinect. The Xbox 360 game is the culmination of a partnership between Paramount Pictures and Microsoft, not related to Activision as originally reported. Training Lair combines the Kinect's motion-capturing abilities with film assets to promote the upcoming film, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The game launches roughly two and a half weeks before the movie hits theaters on August 8, and will be free to download. [Image @lifelower]
Report: TMNT - Training Lair has Kinect ninja skills, Pizza Hut boxes
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Training Lair features heroes-in-a-half-shell with Kinect power, according to recently published box art and achievements. Xbox Achievements (formerly Xbox 360 Achievements) published the cheevos and Kinect-tabbed box art this week, and it noted the publisher of the motion-controlled Xbox 360 game as Activision. The company does hold the TMNT games license, but it hasn't announced the game as yet, and there's no sign of it on any official Xbox listings. We've reached out to Activision to see if we can lure more info out of its shell.

Activision and Nickelodeon team up for 3 TMNT games
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have a new home in video game publishing. Previously in the hands of Ubisoft, the Turtles now rest with Activision thanks to a new multi-year deal inked with the TMNT owner Nickelodeon. The deal will see Activision publish three games based on the new animated series (pictured), with the first game slated for this summer. No details were offered about the games themselves, including available platforms, though they promise to "take gamers through interactive environments and action-packed adventures that truly capture the essence, tone and exciting elements of the Turtles."Presumably, a lot of Foot Clan soldiers are in for a world of hurt. And Donatello will be the best. Obviously.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES) pulled from Virtual Console
You waited too long. It was only a couple bucks, but you thought, "I have time. It'll always be there. I'll get to it eventually." But now you can't download Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles on the Virtual Console and your world is destroyed.Honestly, it was a weird goal to have, but we didn't want to say anything. In each and every region, it seems the turtles have retreated from the Virtual Console. Nintendo World Report reports Konami cited an "expired license," the same issue that claimed TMNT Turtles in Time Re-Shelled.There's no word on whether the turtles will return to the surface any time soon, so we've contacted Konami for more.
TMNT Arcade Attack assails DS this holiday
Ubisoft is shelling out another Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game this year with TMNT: Arcade Attack for DS. As the name implies, the game will feature the arcade-style, beat-em-up gameplay most recently seen in Turtles in Time, but this will be an all-new game. Players take on Shredder (who else?), along with his bebop and rock steady rogue's gallery of baddies, with a friend through local wireless -- or let a turtle-controlling AI buddy help out.If the game's title sounds familiar, it's probably because we heard some rumblings about it a week ago. Those attending PAX can play the game in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Party Bus, located at the convention's entrance. Drop us a line in the comments if you happen to try it out. %Gallery-71699%
Ubisoft talks online in new TMNT: Smash Up dev diary
In the latest dev diary for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Smash Up, the publishing team at Ubisoft discusses the importance of an online mode and what gamers can expect from its new "brawler." We say "brawler" because -- according to the video -- there is a major distinction between a standard fighting title and TMNT: Smash Up.In Smash Up, up to four players can square off, "brawling" in massive free-for-all matches. If the Smash Bros-style of fighting is too hot for you to handle, players can also square off in two-on-two, or (standard fighting game) one-on-one matches. Developed by Game Arts -- a team made up of a slew of former Team Ninja veterans -- TMNT: Smash Up appears to be in good hands. Hands which you can then use to punch your opponent in the face with.%Gallery-43172%
