It's clearer than ever that the Nintendo Switch is becoming the go-to console for indie game developers. Nintendo has unveiled launch plans for a spate of well-known indies in addition to launching a dedicated Indie Channel for news. You can expect classics like Undertale (September 18th), Supergiant's Bastion (Sept. 13th) and Transistor (November), the mobile hit Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP (October), and the multiplayer chaos of TowerFall (September 27th, complete with characters from Celeste). And those are the more established games -- there are other hits on the way.

During the Nintendo Direct stream we also learned that Undertale ("the friendly RPG where nobody has to die" and one of our favorites from 2015) will come to the Switch "eventually." While that's great for fans of the game, it's also good news for developers and fans of other games built using the same GameMaker Studio 2 platform. If you're not familiar with the software, it's similar to other widely-used middleware like Unity, however this one is built for use by people who might not have programming or game creation experience. Other games built using versions of the tool include popular titles like Hyper Light Drifter, Hotline Miami and Spelunky.

The Crowdfund Bookie crunches data from select successful Kickstarter and Indiegogo campaigns that ended during the week and produces pretty charts for you to look at. This week in crowdfunding, the Kickstarter campaigns for Pinball Arcade: Terminator 2 Judgment Day, UnderTale, Last Dream, Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead, Rugged Kingdom, Heroes of Mother 3 and Audio Venture came to a close. Pinball Arcade: Terminator 2 Judgment Day, a project by FarSight Studios to fund the development of a Terminator 2 arcade table for consoles and mobile devices, earned the most money this week ($62,360). The project with the most backers of the group was traditional RPG UnderTale, which had 2,398 people funding the project. Heroes of Mother 3 had the highest average pledge per person ($40.05). Take a gander at the results and our fancy charts after the break.
