Every year, the residents of Vana'diel are honored just for being a part of the world in the appropriately named Adventurer Appreciation Campaign. And this year is no exception, with Final Fantasy XI players the world over getting to celebrate the game's latest year of operation. As always, the event brings with it special clothing and accessories for adventurers, but there's a special change this time around that should bring a smile to even the most cynical of players. In previous years, an Anniversary Band was dispensed to players, but it could only be received if the adventurer didn't already have an Anniversary Band. This year's experience-boosting ring, however, will be given out whether or not you have an anniversary ring. With the ring, the new formal wear, and the now-traditional unleashing of Mog Tablet powers, there are plenty of rewards for Final Fantasy XI players who take part in the event, running from now until May 31st. After all, it's being held in your honor to begin with.

This year's addition to the Adventurer Appreciation campaign, the Mog Tablets of King Kupofried, has become such a rousing success that it will be a new permanent game mechanic for all Final Fantasy XI players. The quest involves finding 11 hidden tablets scattered throughout the world and bringing them back to the Explorer Moogle in Jeuno's Ru'lude Gardens. Once all of the tablets are recovered, three of King Kupofried's super kupowers are released all over Vana'diel for adventurers in the areas introduced by the main game, Rise of the Zilart, and Chains of Promathia, excluding Dynamis, Tu'lia (Sky), Lumoria (Sea), and Promyvion. These powers do things from providing teleportation from the capital cities to the boat towns of Mhaura and Selbina, provide the gilfinder and treasure hunter traits to everyone in affected areas, give fully healed players bursts of speed, and more. The powers will last for a week before the tablets scatter to the winds and the hunt begins once again. For the full explanation of this brand new permanent game mechanic, check out the page on it at the Final Fantasy XI main site.

It's been seven eventful years since chocobos and moogles have invaded MMOs, and Final Fantasy XI is still going strong as they celebrate another anniversary with their player base. Of course, any intrepid adventurer knows what the Adventurer Appreciation holiday is all about. It's not that the moogles come out and give away free items or how they recount many insane statistics to you, like how many times you've talked to NPCs. No, it's not about any of that. It's about getting your Anniversary Ring to boost experience gain again! Wooooo hooooo!*Ahem* Excuse me. It's more than just getting a massive experience boost. Especially this year, with the rumor of ancient and powerful Mog Tablets resurfacing across all of Vana'diel. Who knows what's truly in store for this year's event, but it's certain to be worth your while! The campaign will start with the appearance of moogles in the city squares on May 12th and will end on May 25th.Remember, if you still have your ring from last year, use your charges before getting a new one! You can't get a new one, until you throw your old one away!
