A good murder calls for a glass of fine wine, a monocle and perhaps a strapping butler, ready to answer all questions concerning dastardly deeds. Luckily for adventure fans, Agatha Christie is happy to deliver mountains of murder, mystery and intrigue with the upcoming PC port of Evil Under the Sun.Followers of the adventure series will know that And Then There Were None was ported to the Wii a while ago with mixed results. However, the recent revival of point-and-click games on the Wii is incredibly refreshing, as it gives developers inspiration to create new, interesting storylines to accompany the solid gameplay mechanics.Evil Under the Sun tells the story of master detective Hercule Poirot as he goes about solving a murder case on a sunny island -- hence, the evil being under the sun. The game comes out in October this year; plenty of time to brush up on Agatha Christie history in preparation.[Via press release]

Gothic publisher JoWood wants to make a new action RPG. There's just one problem: Who's going to make it? The Austria-based company is currently seeking an indie developer to grind out code for a new action RPG based on one of its existing brands for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.Next to nothing has been revealed about the project-to-be save for the publisher's belief that the franchise is "renowned for an epic background story as well as exceptional graphics and polish." JoWood says that it will continue to look for dev until May 16, and in taking a look over the company's back catalog of established brands we can't help but hope that this means we'll soon be hunting killers and solving mysteries in an action RPG based on an Agatha Christie page turner.

When Agatha Christie's novel And Then There Were None was first adapted into an adventure game for the PC, reactions were all over the place. Some people hated the look, criticizing everything, whereas others found the environments detailed and suitable to the story and setting, while admitting the character models could use some work. Some loved the gameplay, puzzles, and voice acting, and others criticized those same elements. Reviews on Metacritic swing from 90 down to an embarrassing 31, and the user ratings vary even more wildly. However, one thing that was generally lauded was the immersive story, and that should be complete when the game hits the Wii next month, along with all-new motion controls for the port. This blogger actually recently picked up the book after many recommendations, and must admit a small amount of interest in the budget title based on being about a third of the way into the novel. It seems like the sort of thing that might interest the wider Wii audience, certainly, but if the reaction is similar to the one the PC game garnered, there's no telling whether or not this game will disappear immediately. Until then, however, we'll just have to check out the screens, which we've got in the gallery below.%Gallery-14648%
