eMachines EZ1600, Acer Aspire Z5600 and mysterious Gateway all-in-ones in the flesh
We got a quick look at the new all-in-ones from Acer, and they're surprisingly diverse. The eMachines EZ1600 looks incredibly plastic, and almost perfect as a second computer for the kids; the Acer Aspire Z5600 classes up the joint, but might be a bit too staid in the design department; and an unnamed multitouch Windows 7 Gateway (pictured) for the "high end" of things seemed great outside of its incredibly buggy pre-release multitouch driver. Some more tidbits from the Acer event: new all-in-ones. The eMachines EZ1600 (pictured) boasts a 18.5-inch 16:9 screen and up to 720p resolution, an Intel Atom N270 processor with 945GSE chipset, 2 slots of SO DIMM memory, up to 160GB HDD, DVD-RW, Wi-Fi and a card reader. No price or availability, but you'll be able to pick one up in either silver or black. On the classier side of things, we've got Acer Aspire Z5600 AIO with a 24-inch multitouch display that outputs a 1080p picture. It's got the "latest generation of Intel," up to 2TB hard disk space, a TV tuner, webcam and DVD/Blu-ray writer combo drive. Color us intrigued, but we'll await judgment until we see some price points -- if the Timeline's any indication, we might be in a for a pleasant surprise.
CSR fits WiFi, Bluetooth, FM, and GPS into CSR9000 wireless chip
We don't know if CSR's latest all-in-one chip benefits from the recent acquisition of GPS chipmaker SiRF, but the CSR9000 does manage to bundle the location-based technology with WiFi, Bluetooth, and FM. It's also boasting low energy output and small form factor. The company says it's already sampled it for key, unnamed customers. Those canoodling in Barcelona can check out a live demonstration of the chip running on Android at the company's booth.
MSI Wind NetOn AP1900 gets official photography treatment
MSI has gone official with its all-in-one Wind NetOn A1900, which looks to be the M19 we saw in November that was also at CES. The 18.5-inch desktop houses an Intel Atom N270, 2GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB SATA HDD, DVD burner, 4-in-1 card reader, 1.3 megapixel webcam, and an optional 802.11 b/g. Its display is soft-rocking a WSXGA 16:9 resolution with 5 ms response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, and 250 cd/m² brightness -- nothing worth writing home about. No word here on here pricing or availability, but back when it called itself the M19, it was scheduled to hit retail channels last month for five Benjamins.[Via Engadget Spanish]
TG Sambo releases well-equipped LLUON B2 all-in-one
The LLUON B2 isn't TG Sambo's first LLUON all-in-one, but it's the first one we've seen that doesn't wear its iMac inspiration on its sleeve -- or rip off a variant of itself. This well-equipped AIO packs a 2.66GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Q9400 processor, 320GB hdd, and an NVIDIA GeForce 9300 graphics card with 256MB of video memory. This sleek 26-inch monster is designed to look like a TV and rocks a slot-loading DVD burner and an eSATA port, as well as the usual assortment of ports and integrated webcam. It's currently available in Korea for ??? 1,899,000 ($1,421) -- but look on the bright side, that's a whole lot of screen real estate.[Via SlashGear]
ASUS 15.6-inch touchscreen Eee Tops launching tomorrow -- $499?
Can you feel it? That dull sense of ennui isn't the result of the diminished hours of daylight, oh no, it's the sensation of the Eee Top's imminent launch in Taipei. ASUS has a news conference scheduled for Thursday to out the ET1602 and ET1603 XP PCs into the wonderfully erect world of all-in-ones. Something we've been expecting since January of this year when we first heard about ASUS' Eee branding promiscuity. We're still looking at 15.6-inches of touchscreen LCD, a 160GB hard disk, 802.11n WiFi, a pair of 4-watt speakers, and 1.3 megapixel webcam all propped up by a tepid 1.6GHz Atom N270 processor -- a CPU that ASUS knows a thing or two about. The ET1603 packs a better ATI HD3450 graphics card and battery for 4.4-kilograms (9.7-pounds) of luggable PC. We'll have to wait for the pricing and country details but we can speculate that it'll arrive in the US pronto after seeing its wireless (EK-C2) keyboard slip through the FCC yesterday. HP slips into thin with TouchSmart 2 all-in-ones
A year and a half ago, Bill Gates himself announced the TouchSmart PC chunk. This time, a simple press release will have to do the job as HP announces the $1,299 TouchSmart IQ504 (PC) and $1,499 TouchSmart IQ506 (PC with TV tuner). Arguably, the thinner, touchier, bigger, 22-inch all-in-ones deserve better. Inside the 2.6-inch thick chassis you'll find a 500GB disk, 256MB of NVIDIA GeForce 9300 M HS HD graphics, 802.11n WiFi, and 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo T5850 processor thumping through the cycles. Launching in 17 countries next month including the UK, Japan, and the US.
