The Tattered Notebook: Exploring EQII's Qeynos revamp
Back when the Freeport revamp was first announced, the first question I had was when will Qeynos get a facelift? EverQuest II fans have waited patiently, but finally, this past week, Qeynos got one step closer with its arrival on the test server. The Freeport revamp was a major undertaking, with brand-new architecture, new scalable city quests, and even a foreboding scene with Lucan carrying out his own special brand of justice on the Freeport denizens. But what does the new Qeynos look like? This week's Tattered Notebook features a little tour around town to see what's changed. Read on for the low down!
The Tattered Notebook: Five things not to miss from EQII's Heroes' Festival
Once again, the Heroes' Festival has returned to Norrath. The event has only been around a couple of years, but it's a nice time to shoot off some fireworks and celebrate EverQuest II's seventh anniversary. It tends to get overshadowed, coming just on the heels of Nights of the Dead and just a few weeks before Frostfell. But the festival actually has several fun events and offers some of my favorite rewards in game. In this week's Tattered Notebook, we'll look at some "don't miss" things from the Heroes' Festival -- from fireworks to flying band fliers!
The Tattered Notebook: Station cash, server merges, and musings from the community
Welcome to another chapter of The Tattered Notebook. There's a ton to talk about this week, as our favorite game has been making news left and right, in both its traditional and free-to-play flavors. Pull up a chair and grab a cup of your favorite beverage as we delve into our semi-monthly look at what's turning heads and generating discussion in the EverQuest II community. As it turns out, nothing stirs the pot more than server merges (and maybe Station Cash), and in this week's edition we'll highlight a few noteworthy conversations you may have missed. Turn the page for more.
Festival of Unity in EverQuest II
All this week, EverQuest II's Antonia Bayle server celebrates its annual Festival of Unity! For one week each year, dark elves and high elves together raise a cup. Fae and Arasai share pollen-dripping sunflowers. Dwarves break out the GOOD stuff and every table is laden down with pies fresh from Halfling ovens. Barbarians take their annual shower. Ogres and trolls eat gnome cookies instead of gnomes. Dogs and cats live together .... The festival runs from Sunday through Saturday in the zone of Antonica. (That floozy must spend all day thinking of new things to name after herself ...) Tuesday's events include Lawn Darts (weren't these called Gnome Darts last year?), Mentored Dueling Ladder and a High Pounce Challenge. Each evening's events start between 7-8 PM US Eastern time and continue until 10-11 PM EDT. If you have a character on the Antonia Bayle server, why not stop by and take part? Or make a character there and dive into a spider pie with a hundred other hungry folks. And gnomes, be sure to wear hunter orange -- sometimes the trolls need a little reminder.
