Telltale Games' Poker Night at the Inventory 2 stars a table of quick-witted, quick-to-anger players from all of our favorite media forms: Claptrap from the Borderlands franchise, Sam from the Sam and Max game and graphic novels, Brock Samson from Adult Swim cartoon series The Venture Bros., and Ash Williams from cult horror film Army of Darkness. GLaDOS, main baddie of the Portal games, will be the dealer, so rest assured each hand will be extremely scientific.Poker Night at the Inventory 2 is "coming soon" to Steam for PC and Mac, alongside Xbox Live Marketplace and PSN, with more platforms to be announced. Check out the premiere trailer above. NeoGAF members dug into Telltale's "key party" tease last week and uncovered a lineup of screenshots, pictured below.%Gallery-184520%

That didn't take long -- yesterday, I predicted we'd see more app sales pop up for Father's Day, and here we are. Firemint has put its titles on sale for the weekend -- Real Racing 2 is down to $4.99 on the iPhone and $6.99 on the iPad, and the first game in the series is just 99 cents on the iPhone. Don't forget that the iPad version will also stream out video to a TV with the right attachments, so if you pick it up, be sure to try that out. As we tweeted yesterday (you are following us on Twitter, right?), Backflip's great Army of Darkness Defense is free over the weekend. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is just 99 cents on the iPad, and still 99 cents on the iPhone. iPad photo editor PhotoPal got an update -- it's on sale for just 99 cents as well. And finally, excellent iOS and Mac music software Capo just won an Apple Design Award at WWDC the other week, and to celebrate, it's on sale pricing as well this weekend. Namco Bandai has a lot of their games on sale this weekend also, Stay tuned -- I'm sure we'll see even more apps drop in price before the weekend is over.

  • Gimme some sugar, baby: Army of Darkness sounds on the iPhone

Long before I was an Apple nerd, I was a horror nerd. More specifically, I was an Evil Dead/Sam Raimi/Bruce Campbell freak, and even maintained a website devoted to their 1993 masterpiece. I'm both surprised and excited to see my two obsessions collide in the form of an iPhone app devoted to Army of Darkness [iTunes link], the third of the Evil Dead series. Sure, some people use their iPhones to be more productive and create spreadsheets, but sometimes you just need a simple app that screams "shop smart, shop S-Mart!" or "see this? This is my BOOMSTICK!" The app is a simple soundboard app, consisting of 16 audio clips from the film that can be played at the touch of a button. There's also a "slideshow" mode where you can hear all the clips in a row accompanied by an image slideshow. It is definitely not the most full-featured iPhone app, but for the horror fans out there it will make a great addition to your iPhone dock. The app is free and, as far as I'm concerned, essential to every iPhone. If you like it, be sure to check out the other MGM soundboard apps [iTunes link] with audio clips from Robocop, Silence of the Lambs, Fargo and Rocky (all free except for Rocky, which is $0.99). • What do you expect from a WoW movie?

Blizzard announced the Warcraft movie in 2006, after a long and arduous search for a proper production outfit that shared their vision. This search ended with Legendary pictures getting the deal - and while the studio doesn't have spotless track record (Lady in the Water, I'm looking at you...), I think they've hit more home runs than strike outs, particularly with properties that resonate strongly with us geeks and fanboys. Whether or not you agree with their vision, it's safe to say the guys behind Legendary respect their source material a great deal - from the visually stunning 300, the somber and severe The Dark Knight, and the un-movie-able Watchmen. I even really liked Bryan Singer's reverent and messianic take on big blue in Superman Returns. Now, after a drought of news regarding the film, Harry Knowles broke the news about Spider-Man and Drag Me to Hell director Sam Raimi landing the job of helming the Warcraft flick. Variety soon reported that Charles Roven, who produced The Dark Knight, was also joining the mix. Although a lot of things can still change from now until we see Azeroth on the silver screen (directorial musical chairs isn't uncommon in Hollywood), a lot of us at WoW.com were pretty stoked to hear Raimi being selected for the job. I mean, at least it's not Uwe Boll.

  • Phat Loot Phriday: Precisely Calibrated Boomstick

Last week we did a high end raiding item, so this week we only do a piece of husky loot, but it's still pretty impressive. Why? It's the fastest gun in Azeroth, east or west. This... is my boomstick!Name: Precisely Calibrated BoomstickType: Epic GunDamage/Speed: 48-56 / 1.50 (34.7 DPS)Abilities: +14 Agility Ok you primitive screwheads, listen up! As far as I can tell (and it seems like whenever I make a blanket statement like this, our commenters always prove me wrong), this is the fastest non-magical projectile (not thrown) ranged weapon in the game. There's good news and bad news on that one. The good news is that for hunters, firing this fast will mean that any abilities that proc (Improved Aspect of the Hawk, Go for the Throat) will do it more often. You'll also get more crits, which is always nice, and some twink PvP hunters say this can actually keep casters from casting-- it hits so fast that their casting bar slows way down. But unfortunately, speed isn't everything-- as fast as this gun is, lots of hunters would rather have a slower gun that does more damage per hit. Not to mention that all this firing spends your ammo like it's going out of style-- more bangs means more money for new ammo. For BM hunters who autoshot a lot, this gun is nice at the level, but for most other hunters, it's probably not worth the time unless it falls into your lap. Rogues could also use it-- the agility in the ranged weapon slot is nice for the level. But anyone who takes it around 45 or so will probably be passing it up for something better within a few levels anyway. But that's how it is with lowbie weapons-- first you want to kiss them, then you want to kill them. Blow. How to Get It: It's a world drop, which means it could drop from almost anywhere in the world. So either you'll just get really lucky and have it fall into your lap while leveling or grinding, or you'll have to pick it up from the AH-- like other world epics, it is Bind on Equip. It's gone for hundreds of gold in the past, but even though I haven't priced it lately, I wouldn't imagine it being near that high these days-- 200g at the absolute most, and probably under 100g on most servers. You could probably get it cheaper, but only if you shop smart-- S-mart.Getting Rid of It: If you had it drop and don't need it, sell that sucker on the AH! Otherwise, a vendor will give you 2g 45s 40c for it, or it'll DE into a Large Radiant Shard. Hail to the king, baby. Gimme some sugar.

  • Netjak returns! Huzzah!

When I started writing for Joystiq so many eons ago (13 months, but who's counting?), I always looked to Netjak for fair reviews and hot stories. As ex-Joystiquer Steve Parson once said, "in an era where all but the most depressing of games get good reviews, Netjak are becoming a shining beacon of snark in game reviews."It may come as no surprise, then, to know that we shed many a tear (and drank many a beer), when Netjak's post-E3 content slowed to a drizzle, and then stopped altogether. We were lost, confused, bewildered, and had this persistent itch in the middle of our back that we could never reach.Thankfully (and not a moment too soon), Netjak is back up and running just in time to harshly scrutinize herald in two new consoles. According to Clayton "Alkaiser" Chan, "they say infinite monkeys at infinite typewriters would eventually write all the works of Shakespeare given infinite time. Well, apparently it takes a dozen monkeys in a dozen different locations about 4 months to get their game review site back up."Their first piece up is a review of Disgaea 2 -- a title that author Chris "White Rose Duelist" LoBue predicts is "destined to become a classic." Knowing the 'Jak doesn't give such honors carelessly, we're inclined to listen.Netjak contributors Alkaiser, White Rose Duelist, 32_Footsteps, and LaughingTarget are all active commentors on the 'Stiq, and we are glad to see their site up and running. Welcome back.

  • Universal pushes back several HD DVD titles

Universal has shuffled back the planned release dates for three of their upcoming HD DVD movies for unknown reasons. Backdraft, previously scheduled for September 12, is now slated for  a week later on September 19,  while Army of Darkness & Fast Times at Ridgemont High also slide a week from October 3 to October 10. They've also apparently given up on the Dual-format nomenclature, following Warner in calling them Combo versions. A name change is nice we guess, but we'd really like to see a price drop that brought them in line with other HD DVD releases, paying extra for future proofing is getting really tired.

For those of you waiting for the killer high-def movie to pick one side or the other - it is here. Army of Darkness. The classic Sam Raimi film staring Bruce Campbell is set to come out on October 3. That same day Universal is also going to release Fast Times at Ridgemont High on HD DVD too. There isn't any news if these discs are going to include anything special on high-def version nor is there a price out yet. Oh boy...Army of Darkness.
