Happy Place was the entry into the BlizzCon 2010 machinima contest from Cranius and Legs. It tells the story of a rogue herbalist who usually wants nothing more than to chill out in his happy place picking flowers. As an undead rogue, everyone expects him to simply be a vicious, violent jerk. He eschews these traits, preferring the more peaceful life alongside his loved ones. Of course, given enough provocation, even this kind rogue gets a little rowdy. This video just goes to show how stiff the competition was this year in the machinima contest. Cranius and Legs definitely represent some of the top tier of talent in the WoW machinima world. Happy Place is a great song with a brilliant machinima. Of course, that's kind of what you get from these two, but their videos have become a treat for the WoW audience. Here's hoping we get to see more before next year's contest. Mafioso Swing was the first place runner-up for the BlizzCon 2010 machinima contest. This video by Firebolt Productions is a musical introduction to the goblin race and the many entrepreneurial ways they'll be helping out the Horde. If I weren't already completely sold on how awesome goblins are going to be, this video would finish the job. Mafioso Swing is beautiful, well written and even better performed. This is one video that's going into my rotational deck to check out periodically because I just can't get over how much fun it is. FireboltPro has really stepped up the bar with this video and it's more than worth the time to check it out. Click here to check it out. Interested in the wide world of machinima? I am Forsaken by RedEye Lobine won second place runner-up in the BlizzCon 2010 machinima contest. It is the story of a Gilnean apothecary whose life became devastated by a series of tragedies. Seeking to find a new start in life, he decided to move to nearby Lordaeron. You can imagine how that turned out. RedEye obviously put quite a bit of work into the composition of this piece, and I'm glad to see it did well at the contest. It was a very tough competition this year, with many fantastic videos. It can be tough to tell a good Forsaken story, but obviously the judges felt Lobine pulled it off. Congratulations! Interested in the wide world of machinima? As we continue the journey through this year's BlizzCon 2010 machinima contest entries, our next video is the third place runner-up. A Crit(t)ical Incident was created by Cold Entertainment as an interesting look at the coming Cataclysm. Even more importantly, the two protagonist critters of the video turn out to bear witness to an unlikely hunter who's come to Azeroth to hunt down Deathwing. All I can say is it's about time.
