Even though there's currently all the sunshine you can grab for free outside, Amazon is offering up a big Buy One Get One Free sale on video games, earning you two different titles for the price of one. There are some clunkers in there (and a few of the titles are sold out), so you might have to pick and choose a little bit, bargain-bin style. But there are still some good deals to be had, including Fear 2: Project Origin, Majin and the Forsaken Kingdom, Lost Planet 2, Spider-man: Shattered Dimensions, and Sin & Punishment: Star Successor all free when you buy another one. The online retailer also just posted its new Video Games Deals of the week, Duke Nukem Forever for $38, Hunted: The Demon's Forge for $40, the Wii's Mystery Case Files: The Malgrave Incident for only $15 and more. Just one request: Once you order as many as your wallet will allow, please do get at least a couple of breaths of fresh air.

There are few pleasures more pure in life than when you buy a candy bar in a vending machine, and two candy bars come out. Right? It's the most thrilling event ever -- and Ubisoft's recreating that magic this weekend, offering one free game with any purchase from the Ubishop.

  • HTC HD7 greets Black Friday with a Buy One Get One Free offer from T-Mobile

Been feeling blue this holiday season? Finding all the special offer WP7 phones a little too little? Fear not, T-Mobile and Microsoft are ready to give you a pair of HD7s for the price of one next time you drop into one of the Magenta stores asking about Windows Phone 7 devices. You'll need to commit to the usual two-year contract and whatnot, but it's a straight up BOGO on what's probably the most desirable handset sporting Microsoft's new OS on the American market. Then again, even with this discount, you still might be able to find the HD7 cheaper at online retailers, so as per usual on Black Fridays, we'd advise doing your due diligence before letting your dead presidents out for a walk. And please, try not to think of how sweet a day this could have been if Dell's Venue Pro had actually been released on schedule. [Thanks, David]

  • LG Quantum, HTC Surround and Samsung Focus: BOGO from AT&T starting Friday

Here's hoping you didn't choose to adopt early. Not even three weeks after Windows Phone 7 went on sale in the US of A comes this: a buy one, get one free sale christened by Microsoft and AT&T. Starting November 26th (that's Black Friday, we'll have you know), sleepy-eyed consumers can drag themselves into their local AT&T store in order to pick up an LG Quantum, HTC Surround or Samsung Focus in BOGO fashion -- best of all, you can mix and match, enabling users to snag a Quantum and a Surround (or a Focus) for just $199. Naturally, you'll still be signing a pair of two-year agreements with Ma Bell, but it's still the cheapest way to indulge in WP7 for the time being. There's no telling when the deal will end, but common sense would say to jump in early if you've got a hankerin'.

  • Verizon's Android BOGO flier shows up, Droid Eris only free option

So the good news here is that Verizon's rumored buy-one-get-one-free deal on its Android line this weekend is shaping up to be legit -- the bad news, though, is that the most expensive (and probably most desirable) option is getting left out in the cold. Well, that's not quite true -- you'll still be able to take part in the offer if you buy a Droid, but for your free phone on the second line, you'll be stuck with a Droid Eris from HTC -- a phone that normally runs $100 instead of the Droid's $200. Of course, the Droid Eris is still a great little device, and as for Verizon, don't worry about them -- they'll get their money back. Trust us.

  • Verizon's Droid and Droid Eris going BOGO this weekend?

We're not saying you should do anything rash and sign up for two lines when you only need one, but we're sure there are plenty of people out there still shopping for a last-minute First Weekend of December gift -- and it looks like Verizon might have just the ticket. The rumor going around right now is that Big Red is going to pony up its Droid and Droid Eris for buy-one-get-one-free deals starting this Friday running through the following Monday. If you've already bought one though, don't fret: the rumor goes on to say that customers who've picked up their phones in the last 30 days will also be eligible, which kinda makes sense when you consider that Verizon's got a 30-day return policy anyhow. So, what do you think? Droid for the mister, Droid Eris for the missus? Vice versa?

To celebrate the one year anniversary of its inception, digital classic games retailer Good Old Games is offering a pretty sweet buy-one-get-one-free deal on select Interplay titles. There are 12 games available for $5.99 a piece, and the deal can be extended to as many pairs as you feel like purchasing. For instance, for just $11.98, you can pick up Fallout, Fallout 2, Fallout Tactics and the Redneck Rampage Collection -- though this particular bundle would likely serve as an apt diagnosis of some form of schizophrenia.

According to the folks at NeoGAF, your local Blockbuster may be a bottomless well of golden gaming bliss right now. Up until January 5th, Blockbuster is holding a buy one, get one free promotional offer on games. If it's priced at $14.99 or lower, then it qualifies for this sale. According to some of the folks in the GAF thread, there's plenty to be had. We advise you check your local store to see what's in stock, because the GAFfers seem to be finding some steals.

In what could be described as the awesomest (it's a word, believe) promotion Rock Band 2 related, Amazon is offering a free 1600MS point card with the purchase of the rhythm title. Those who purchase the standalone software will also be treated to a free points card which could be used to purchase even more "Rock."The offer is available until October 4 but Amazon warns the promotion is only kicking around until supplies last. Make sure to take them up on the offer if you were a Rock Band 2 fence-sitter when it shipped last week. Jump to the rocking side, already! It's the fun side with long hair and leather pants.[Thanks, Lightsout565]

If you love your Blu-ray library, you'll love this week's deal at Target. Seems that they're offering a new "buy one get one free" deal. By that we mean 11 selected titles are available at 50% off -- the titles they chose are actually pretty good. The only downside is that the majority of Blu-ray-o-philes might have most of these already. Still, not a bad deal to get these at $15 a piece. Here's the list of select titles, so get your hunt on: Casino Royale Spiderman 3 Live Free or Die Hard Ocean's Thirteen 300 Saw IV 3:10 to Yuma Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End The Simpson's Movie The Game Plan Ratatouille [Thanks, Jonathon!]

Sure, it's fun to carry around three, four, or even five devices at a time -- and now thanks to a new promotion from Palm, you can quickly up the number of gadgets hanging from your utility belt by two. Currently, if you purchase the PDA / smartphone-maker's $299 Palm TX, they'll throw in a $99 Zire Z22 for free. We're guessing those storage crates full of unsold product are probably starting to crowd Ed Colligan's basement.[Via Palm Infocenter]

Heads up, HD DVD followers -- it's not just Amazon dishing out two flicks for the price of one anymore. As of right now, Best Buy is offering up a select number of titles in BOGO fashion, but there's no sign of how long the offer will last. 'Course, it's not like the retailer hasn't given the Blu-ray camp its chance to get in on such a deal before, but apparently, big yellow is looking out for camp red today.[Thanks, Mike K.]Update: Seems this deal will cease to exist (if only momentarily) on Sunday. Thanks, TrentD!

  • Shocker: Amazon's Blu-ray BOGO boosts BD rankings

    01.02.2008

We know, it's tough to believe, but Amazon's recent Buy 1 Get 1 free offer on Blu-ray titles has skyrocketed a number of BD films to the top of its curiously named DVD rankings. Granted, we saw the exact same thing happen to the red camp just days ago, but just in case the dead horse needed one more thumping, it's pretty safe to say that lowering disc prices will net a hefty gain in sales. At one point earlier today, the entire top ten list consisted of Blu-ray films, and currently, a majority of those positions are still being claimed by BD titles. So before you jump all down the other camp's throat about sales figures, you may want to give the lion's share of credit to lower prices, plain and simple.[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]

Sure, you may still be clearing your head after a few nights of debauchery, but it doesn't take a genius to figure out that Buy 1 Get 1 ain't a half bad deal. Just a week after offering up such a deal on HD DVD flicks, Amazon is now giving Blu-ray owners (another) shot at picking up a number of films in BOGO fashion. Per usual, there's a limit of two per title, per customer and you can only snag 25 free titles per order, but why not hit the read link and check out the selections, anyway?[Thanks, Jim]

  • Amazon BOGO excels HD movies to number one for the first time ever

We had a feeling that the Amazon buy one get one free offer was going to get some people excited, but we can't say we saw this coming. As long as we've been following the new formats, we've never see one of 'em at the number one spot on Amazon's poorly named DVD chart. In addition to this, is that the top four spots are occupied by Harry Potter HD DVDs. Up until now, the top stop occupied by a HD movie was 300, which hit number two. As great as this is for HD movies, before red fanboys start proclaiming victory, they should consider that although Home Media Magazine wasn't published this week (and thus no Nielsen VideoScan numbers) the data was leaked by a reputable source on AVS, and stated that the blu version of Phoenix outsold red by 1.2:1. Of course this was before the Amazon sale, so we'll be interested to see if all those Amazon sales are enough to move the overall market.

We've already got all up in your business and found out what your favorite gift was, so now that you're sitting around itching to burn through some of that holiday coin, why not indulge in Amazon's latest offer? As of right now, users can snap up select HD DVD titles in Buy 1 Get 1 free fashion, with a maximum of two per title and 20 freebies per order. 'Course, Amazon doesn't tend to let these promotions run for too long, so we'd suggest ordering now and thinking later.[Thanks, REGION FREE HD]

  • OLPC Give One, Get One program extended -- averaging $2M sales per day

Negroponte's OLPC Buy One, Give One program has been extended to 31 December, 2007 -- well beyond the initial two-weeks originally announced. The deal buys both yourself (or rather, your kid supposedly) and a tot from a developing nation new XOs for just $399. Already, the non-profit claims to be pulling in about $2 Million worth of "donations" each day. They've also opened up bulk buying to schools in quantities of 100-999 ($299 each), 1000-9999 ($249 each), or 10,000 and more ($199). Oh, and the program is now officially renamed "Give One, Get One" (GoGo) -- we presume BoGo'ing the kids sounded too icky.

Got $399 and a semi-altruistic tendency? Good, the OLPC "Buy One, Give One" program just launched allowing you to BOGO a kid in a developing nation for just $399. Bonus: the program entitles you to a free year of T-Mobile HotSpots. Now best get to dialing 1-877-70-LAPTOP as the offer only runs though November 26th. P.S. Valid for North Americans only.[Thanks, Jazzpad]
