Fourscore and seven levels ago: SOE celebrates President's Day with special in-game bonuses
President's Day may not be the most exciting holiday in the States (or even relevant to those outside of it), but SOE has decided to do it justice with a President's Day Event that's sweeping across many of its titles. As John F. Kennedy once said, "Ask not what you can do for your MMO, but what your MMO can do for you!" EverQuest and EverQuest II players will both enjoy a double XP weekend starting today, February 18th, which will give a huge boost to levels gained during that period. EQ's boost will last through the 21st but is sadly not applicable to the new progression servers. In EQII, this XP bonus affects adventure, trade, and AA, and it will last through the 22nd. Star Wars Galaxies is running its Bonus Everything Weekend from the 17th through the 22nd. This will greatly increase XP, tokens, Pet XP, Chronicles XP, Restuss Commendations, and fish caught, to name just a few of the bonuses. Vanguard's also joining the party, as crafting, adventuring and diplomacy XP will all get a shot in the arm over the weekend. SOE's also running a sale on existing and new items in several of its games, including Free Realms and Clone Wars Adventures. Star Wars Galaxies developer webcast today shares the present and future of the game
Calling all Star Wars Galaxies adventurers -- the SOE community team is planning to pour its heart out with the fans in a developer webcast later today! If you want to get the inside scoop on the Ewok Festival of Love and the Bonus Everything Weekend, then you will definitely want to catch this chat. The webcast will take place today, February 17th, at 4:00 p.m. PST on Stickam, according to a Facebook announcement. The devs will be talking about the current in-game events as well as dropping "a few hints about what's coming up next." The Ewok Festival of Love is a month-long (February 10th through March 10th) event in which the cute and cuddly inhabitants of the forest moon of Endor celebrate good feelings, good food and their obsession with flight. By participating in the events, players can earn several special rewards including housing items, pets, and decorative wings. Because nothing strikes fear in Stormtroopers like Jedi with itsy-bitsy wings!
SWG offers bonus xp, new player house
Star Wars Galaxies is pulling out all the stops in an attempt to rope former subscribers or the casually interested back into the game. The long-running sandbox title pushed Hotfix 16.11 to the live servers yesterday, and with it an event called Bonus Everything Weekend. From now until until Tuesday, June 1, players will accrue double XP, double Galactic Civil War points, double Battlefield and Invasion tokens, double Chronicles XP, double Chronicles Silver Tokens, and an increased chance to earn Gold Chronicles and Bonus Heroic Tokens. Grab your friends and enlist in the game's Heroic Encounters, as the Heroic Tokens can now be used to purchase the new Jabba's Sail Barge player house.
