Take a tour of LG's colorful, high-definition CES booth
LG will probably be best remembered at this year's CES for showing off what appears to be a very nice curved-screen phone. But as ever, LG had a very big booth here in Vegas and as ever, it contained way more than just a few smartphones. Take a look around and you'll find walls full of 8K displays, Swarovski crystal-encrusted televisions and some flexible sets too, for good measure. Oh, and there was that crazy baby washing machine. Take a tour of Sony's massive CES booth
Sony's presence at CES is by far one of the most impressive both in terms of scope and spectacle. This year's booth unsurprisingly focused on the company's ongoing push to make 4K and hi-res audio mainstream mainstays. Its new Walkman PMP and super thin 4K TVs were accompanied by refreshed Handycams, PlayStation 4s, wrist-worn wearables, bluetooth speakers, projectors and a whole lot more. LG's MWC 2012 booth tour (video)
MWC's over for this year, but while all those HDTVs, tethered phones and Android costumes are lovingly stored for the next big tech event, we reckon you need to feel what the biggest mobile event of the year encompasses. So we braved another packed product booth to give you a taste of what the week's been like. LG's getting the treatment this time, with visits to the Optimus Vu, Optimus 4X HD and the Optimus 3D Max. Behind the scenes at CES 2012: getting to a hands-on (video)
Getting to and from an announcement, meeting, or keynote is one of the things we find ourselves doing countless times a day. To truly appreciate just how far we sometimes have to trek to get to the things we're covering at CES is hard to understand unless you've done it. Crowds that delay because they're ambling along, booths that are hard to find, and the time you burn getting to and fro is always at the back of our minds. We thought it a good idea to put together a little tour of how we find and then travel to a booth at CES. Enjoy the video after the break.
Google's MWC 2011 Android booth tour
It'd be no exaggeration to say that Google's Android booth here at MWC 2011 has been the most popular of them all. The Mountain View secret to this preeminence has been some combination of putting cutesy costumes on its now iconic robot logo, installing a slide for weary geeks to reconnect to their childhood with, and operating a fully fledged smoothie bar that offered up free Honeycomb elixirs. In short, Ye Olde Google has aimed to be fun first and foremost and the crowds have responded by keeping its booth constantly busy. Heck, we even saw our buddy Stephen Elop walking by, though his panther-like quickness was too much for our cameras to document the moment. LG's CES 2011 booth tour
If there is one booth at CES this year that is going all out, it's arguably LG's. The massive, supermarket-sized chunk of show floor real estate showcases everything from the manufacturer's latest phones -- like the Revolution, Optimus Black and Optimus 2X -- to SmartTV devices, network Blu-ray players and HDTVs. You'll also find smart appliances linked with WiFi and smartphone apps using LG Thinq, and even a scanner mouse -- not to mention a mesmerizing display wall. Motorola's CES 2011 booth tour
To say Motorola's had a stellar show would be a massive understatement. Betwixt the Motorola Atrix 4G, the Xoom, Droid Bionic and to a lesser extent the Cliq 2, they've been reborn and are the star of the show. Of course, in order to peddle your wares at CES you need a booth -- the more garish the better, typically -- and Moto's is massive and bedecked and badazzled in light with more flair than you'd need to work in a place like Chotchke's. So, we wandered about, took in the sights, the sounds, and grabbed some pics and a short vid of what we saw. %Gallery-113437%

We're not sure why, but Panasonic loves to trot out human exhibits whenever it wants to promote new additions to its camera line. Here's what they used at IFA 2010 in Berlin. Unfortunately, we're too freaked-out to remember anything about the camera.
TiVo's Cable Show '09 presence reveals online scheduling, plans to expand distribution
We didn't make it down to D.C. for Cable Show '09 and most likely neither did you, but luckily Dave Zatz was on the scene and has grabbed a few snaps of the TiVo booth. Most notable for what wasn't there -- any new hardware, tru2way or otherwise -- there was a demo of upcoming online scheduling capabilities for the Comcast TiVo via Fancast.com. No word when we can expect them to be available, but while you chew on that info and pore over the other booth pics beyond the read link, Multichannel News brings word that other cable subs may be close to reaping the benefits of that investment as the company is ready and hoping to bring its software to set-top boxes beyond those from Comcast, Cox & DirecTV.Read - TiVo at The Cable ShowRead - DVR Maker Pitches Hardware-Portable Set-Top Software
Motorola's CES 2009 booth tour
HelloMoto indeed, we came expecting that we'd likely have to give Motorola a pass, but were kinda chuffed to actually love what they've got going on. We were absolutely wowed by the stainless and svelte Aura, and just couldn't keep our hands-off it. Also on hand were the SURF A3100 and the green-and-made-from-recycled-stuff W233 Renew, with the A3100 being the cooler of those two offerings. A decent showing from a company that really needs it right now, here's hoping we catch more from them at Mobile World Congress next month.%Gallery-41712%
Samsung's CES 2009 booth tour
Samsung's booth was a fairly massive affair with just about everything "CES" you can think of on display. While we missed the portable projector phone, dubbed the Samsung Show, we did see a flexible OLED display, washing machines, vending machines, TVs, and a mountain of other gear. LG's booth was, like some of the other heavy tech hitters, filled to overflowing with everything we came here to see. From netbooks, the GD910 watch phone, an OLED TV, and who can forget the LG Renoir? They most definitely kept us, and the giant crowds milling about, smiling. Microsoft's CES 2009 booth tour
Microsoft brought less instead of more to the show and was on hand mostly to highlight Windows 7. We peeked at the multi-touch functionality of the new OS (see the vid after the break), Zune, Xbox 360 dreams, and learned that less is more as far as Windows Mobile is concerned. Microsoft's booth also seemed to take the prize for grandest use of gaudy colors in a display, well done Microsoft! Gallery is below and the vid is just a click away. %Gallery-41704%
CES 2009 North Hall tour: like Hot Import Nights minus the tire smoke
We may not have covered too many products in the North Hall at this year's CES, a mecca for vehicle customizers and their wares, but that's mainly because we have a hard time keeping up with the latest in LED and hydraulic technologies as applied to motorized pursuits. But, there were a few sweet rides scattered about, and while we can't say we'd necessarily allow ourselves to be seen in most of them, there was at least one intelligently modded muscle car in particular that we just couldn't resist capturing some video of. Runco CEDIA 2008 booth tour
Runco's booth at CEDIA this year wasn't nearly as outlandish as SpeakerCraft's, but it definitely had an outdoor vibe to it. Curiously, all of the outfit's newly announced kit wasn't out for viewing, but the flagship 70-inch Crystal Series CX-70DHD (and its external DHD video controller / processor) was hard to miss. Generally speaking, we've always found NuVo Technologies' products a tad too pricey for what they are, but who are we to think for everyone, right? projectiondesign's overhead sign was practically larger than its array of projectors, but those uniquely designed boxes drew our attention and wouldn't let go. ZeeVee CEDIA 2008 booth tour
Well, would you look at that. The little Massachusetts startup that got all of our hopes up with a localcasting ZvBox showed up at this year's CEDIA, and while it didn't bring much to the show (after all, it only has one product), there seemed to be a good bit of buzz around the floor.
